Two years ago I started waking up several times a night with an excruciating ‘pins and needles’ sensation in my right hand, but to the point it was very painful, felt like my hand could explode, and would take over an hour to dissipate each time. I started losing a lot of sleep. I read that sleeping with a wrist brace may help so I ordered one immediately and it did deliver relief and sleep again. I have worn a brace nightly ever since. I was due to order a new brace and decided to give this one a try as it was less expensive that my last brace. I'm a woman with average sized hands so I ordered the medium and it fits great. This brace can accommodate a right or left hand and I use it on my right. The brace is of fine quality and sturdy. There are three, easily adjustable Velcro straps to make it comfortable. The Velcro is noteworthy as it is very strong so there is no slippage. All Velcro loses grip with regular use so only time will tell how long it lasts. The middle and largest strap has such a exceptional grip that it is sometimes difficult to get it pulled apart to remove, but it's because it is still fairly new and I don't fault it for that. The only small issue I have is that the metal splint slides out and I have to push it back in periodically. My previous brace has the splint sewn in so I never had that issue. I'm sure this one is made this way so it can be easily removed for cleaning (although the listing doesn't speak to that at all), but it has been a slight bother. I somewhat wish there was a Velcro closure at the end of the splint pocket so that it would stay in fully until you want to remove it. Overall, I have been wearing this brace for several nights, it has been comfortable to wear, and has allowed me to sleep peacefully with no issues! I hurt my wrist before when lifting heavy stuff. It mostly healed, but it still hurts again when I carry heavy things. After using this brace, it feels much better and gives good support without making the injury worse. It does feel a bit stiff, not very felxibility, but I think that’s the trade-off for proper protection. Overall, it really helps and makes me feel more confident using my hand again. Read more

An injury as a kid injured both my wrists. Though it didn't bother me for many years, for 2 decades now I have needed to sleep with braces on to keep my wrists straight - if I don't, pain will follow. While this Actirun brace does function adequately, there are things I'm not fond of: Though my wrists measure right in the middle of the medium size range, the brace isn't very comfortable. I can blame some of that on the fact that its new, and it may break-in in the coming weeks. The main comfort issue though is the size of the thumb openings, they just feel too small and put some uncomfortable pressure on the topside of the thumb joint. Again, they might break-in, but I don't see the hole for the thumb getting much larger. Another problem is the main aluminum strip, which is too long to be tucked into it's inside pocket (the little inside flap which holds it in place). As you can see in the photo, even with the aluminum slid all the way into place, it is on the verge of poking out. There is the little inside flap which should hold it in place, but either the flap is too long, or the aluminum is too long, but no matter how I try I can't get it in behind that inner flap - so the aluminum always wants to slide out. I'll probably need to trim the aluminum so it will fit properly. The edges of the aluminum are quite sharp, and over time will cut through from the inside out. I have experienced this many times, on All brands of braces. It is a good idea for the purchaser of any brace to remove the aluminum and file or sand down those sharp edges (the ends are most important) if you want the fabric pockets to last a long time. If you only need to wear this brace a short time, you might not consider these things much of an issue. Read more
