I have made two different purchases. One M black, one S pistachio. 5'9" 150lb person(s) (Male & Female) - moderately fit body(gym) 29" waist 35" hips Medium - feels good and looks good, no visual slack in material. Pulling on material shows room for much more glute growth space(even with a muscular, less fat butt) and lots of extra waist space, although no visually slack it made me want to try a small. No thigh choke, very comfortable. Small - visually is much smaller in comparison before wearing. Upon wearing, stretch is moderate-max of short capacity. Feels good while wearing. Minimal space/slack, but definitely not uncomfortable at all(might be on perineal for males since scrotum takes up extra slack) Conclusion - 150lb & fat/extremely muscular thighs/butt - Medium (or if you like less super snug shorts/worried about camel) 150lb & moderately fit/avg/thin thighs/butt - Small (Medium if you don't want the very snug/stretched fit) Male - must wear under gym shorts as compression shorts(& it's obviously inappropriate for public). Tuck up, not down. Both give no problems. If you're packing massive/want less chance of being uncomfortable with deep squats, go medium. S is more define, M is more comfort promising. Only complaint - doesn't go inward as much between glutes. It goes in a little and contours good everywhere else but lacking between mid glutes to tailbone. Could be even better if it did that, but overall, I'd say best for your $ on Amazon. You'd have to go to NVGTN to get better contour as they're not sold on Amazon and eBay you can't tell if they're fake or real NVGTN because the fakes are too visually accurate to real ones, but fake. Purchased for a friend who tries all different brands and styles of workout clothing She said the yellow color was vibrant on these and I agree. The waist band wanted to roll with strenuous exercise and the thought is due to the band being a bit limp. Maybe it was due to the size itself, as they were a bit snug around the waist and hips compared to other brands' butt lifting shorts in the same size, but not enough to be uncomfortable. The scrunch was not visible or uncomfortable. She only wore them once, so I cannot attest to durability, but they did not pill or separate at any seams. They look and feel as if they would last.
