I bought my son a micro-computer for emails and such, but it only had a couple of usb ports. This worked to give him extra ports and is about the same length as his micro-computer, so it fits great. He can plug in his controller and a few extra peripherals so he is happy. It works well for him and is easy to use, of course, because all you have to do is plug it in. We did not need an extra Power supply for this item because the things he is using are low energy cost (camera, headphones, speakers with their own power cord) so that was not an issue for us. I ordered this because I have a lot of USB cords that need to be attached to my computer at any given time (mostly label printers for work). Although this seems to be geared more towards laptops, it is working great so far on my desktop. I have various USB ports on the back and front of the desktop, and I was able to insert this into my last front-facing USB port, which gives me three extra ports on the front side (four total: one to replace the port I used to plug this in, plus an extra three). I've already connected one label printer to it, and it's working wonderfully. The small size is perfect because it doesn't take up much room and leaves space on the other side for the other USB port next to it. This is a great splitting option, but has some limits, and may block some of your other ports. For example, I plugged a wireless mouse dongle, a thumb drive, and a keyboard into this hub, and maintained a consistent 5Gbps transfer rate when moving a 2GB folder. The aluminum casing matches my Jumper All-in-One perfectly and stays cool to the touch even with three ports occupied and in use. I use this primarily to expand my limited laptop ports, and when I need to expand my desktop ports (Dell All-in-One Desktop Touch Screen Monitor). I’m giving it 4 stars because while the performance is flawless, and provides me with needed expansion, it blocks my Fingerprint Sensor and memory card port on my laptop when I have it plugged it, so I can't keep it attached at all times. If you're getting this to keep plugged in 24/7, just check your current port setup before you purchase, or get a device that has a small cord before the splitter starts, so you can still reach important access points on your device. I received the Right 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub. It comes with the hub itself. I really like the high-speed 5Gbps transfer rate because it makes transferring files quick and efficient. The quality seems good and the aluminum design feels sturdy and durable. It works well with multiple devices and fits easily on my desktop to help expand the limited number of usb ports. This is perfect for our Airbnb rental. It was important to us that we offer modern amentiies just as a hotel would, so this data splitter was just the item that was missing for our small corner desk space. We were able to attach this to the table using velcro tape so that it could be clear that guests were not to take this, that it was to be a stationary charger. We used this for our own computer several times, having multiple outlets made it so easy to get work done. I could order supplies and charge my phone, have a device also for my son to play while I worked and was never interrupted with signal or power. This provided fast data response and a good length of cord to plug into.
