Decent budget backup Ear Buds. Nice to have in case of emergency.

These are ok for what they are. The sound quality is about average, lacking deep bass and they are a little tinny sounding. The quality is ok, you can tell they are a cheap nonbrand name pair of buds. But being under $10, what do you expect? The cord length is sufficient. The volume control is nice and works like its supposed to. The fit is similar to Apple Airpods, so if you use those these should be fine. These are decent to have as backups as needed. Read more

Good Sound Quality at a Value Price

I own a Samsung Galaxy S23+. Until now, I had to use Bluetooth earbuds with the phone. When I saw that these wired earbuds would connect to the USB-C port on my phone, I was excited to give them a try. The earbuds were well packaged in a plastic tray inside a cardboard box. The wire that extends from the volume control to the phone had a nice rubber-like feel, and appeared to be a decent gauge thickness. I did not take an actual measurement. The earbuds feature an inline volume control and mute button. The volume control is a slide switch. Both the volume control and mute button functioned as intended. I tested the earbuds using the Media Monkey app on my phone. I listened to several classic rock tracks from such artists as ZZ Top, Bruce Springsteen, INXS, Dire Straits, U2, and The Guess Who. I am not an audiophile, but in my humble opinion, the sound quality was excellent. The tones were full bodied and I felt immersed in the music. I also tested the earbuds while making phone calls. The calls were crisp and clear. The party on the other end said I sounded clear. The reason I deducted a star from the rating is that I had difficulty keeping the earbuds in my ear. I will admit that I am not accustomed to this type of design. I have typically used earbuds with silicone gels that were placed into the ear canal. These buds are a hard plastic that wedges into the ear. I have never used Apple or Samsung hard plastic earbuds, so perhaps my inexperience with this type of design contributed to my difficulty. In closing, I would highly recommend these earbuds at this price point. They offer very good sound quality for only $6.99 (as of this writing). Read more

Good value, good sound after equalizer adjustment

I normally prefer over-the-ear headphones, but they're not very portable when traveling so wired earbuds like these are a nice alternative -- especially since they never need charging or pairing. I tried them with a Samsung A03s, a Pixel 7, and a Samsung Galaxy S7 tablet and they started working immediately and automatically. On the cord you'll find a small button to play/pause or answer/hang up a call (I tested both and it works as expected). There's also a tiny volume slider -- not up/down buttons, but rather an analog potentiometer. I'm afraid I didn't find it terribly useful: because it has such a short throw, it's rather fiddly to get just the right volume. In practice, it was easier to just slide it up to 100% and then ignore it, using my phone buttons for volume. Since these are hard plastic with no squishy silicone, I wondered if they would be prone to falling out of my ears, but happily that hasn't happened, even if I tip my head forward/back/to the side. The upside to no silicone is you can easily hear what's going on around you, including having a conversation without taking them out. There is an included shirt clip, but the cord clamp is a super tight fit on the main cord, to the point I was worried about damaging the clip or the cable forcing it on. It clamps to one or both of the smaller diameter ear wires just fine though, and that's probably where it's meant to go. Sound quality: so, my understanding of how these work is there's a little microchip in the connector that does the DAC, Digital-to-Analog Conversion. Theoretically, this means your phone is delivering digital data over USB so the sound qualify should be the same no matter what device you plug it in to. In actuality, different devices have different digital equalizer settings, so these buds sounded a little better on the A03s and a little worse on the Pixel. If your device has a graphic equalizer, I would definitely recommend tweaking it to get the best sound. After tweaking, I did a comparison with my Anker Soundcore Space Q45 noise-cancelling over-the-ear headphones and these sound really good to my 48-year-old ears. Surprisingly good, considering their price. As you might expect, they're obviously not as rich as the $150 Q45s, but that's not a fair comparison. Still, these have a healthy amount of bass (for earbuds) and and mids and highs are clear and undistorted at a comfortable volume. Pop music sounds great, as do podcasts. I also tested the mic with a phone call and a Google Meet video call, and I sounded fine. Despite the bargain price, these did not disappoint. Read more
