For my use-cases this hub worked flawlessly. My primary criteria was to find a HUB which could support Samsung DeX with a Note10+ with external USB-C powered 2560x1600 screen. (Surprisingly, Samsungs cradle did not support USB-C PD pass-through -- Ι had to return it.) I absolutely needed pass-through feature to power my particular portable screen while keeping the smart phone optimally charged. Also tested it with SD-cards, & external Hard Drive via USB 3. I had heard that some Android phones could put out an HDMI video signal through one of these adapter so with an external USB keyboard and mouse the phone could act almost as a desktop with a large TV as a display. I have an older flatscreen that does not have the screencast function which is why I was looking for the USB-C to HDMI out. This adapter is very inexpensive and in an actual metal case, and is small. It can be hooked up to a USB-C charging cube and charge the phone/tablet while in use. I have a Moto G Power 2025 which happens to not have the HDMI out of the USB port function. Many Samsung phones do. But this was an inexpensive way to try it and I am still using it for the extra ports and to hood a real keyboard and mouse to the phone. By the way I did find there is a app in the playstore that can be downloaded and checks if your hardware supports the USB-HDMI video out.
