As older Apple devices leave my home slowly for newer tech that has migrated to UCB-C I find it handy to have these adapters on some USB-C cables to de-clutter the back seat of my vehicle where the kids use devices on long trips and around the kitchen where we have a charging area for devices. It's just easier to have 1 USB cable with this adapter attached to it. The tether works well though I have no doubt that if it ever tears the adapter would be lost in my home or the back of my vehicle. Still handy for the transition away fro this older lightening connector and help declutter charging areas with extra cables only used occasionally that can be lost. These work exactly as intended and advertised. Do not count on using the rubbery leashes to keep these adapters attached to your existing cable - if you do, you'll be misplacing the adapters as soon as they rub or bump against anything while not actively plugged into a device. The rubbery leashes do not connect tightly/firmly enough to the adapters. Otherwise, the adapters themselves are solidly built and high quality, and snap firmly onto the lightning cable end of a cable for a perfect fit. Charging speed does not seem to be affected. The price is right on these, and I haven't seen any that appear to be a better value - especially given how high quality these are. Read more

I love these. I have always had a problem with never having the right cords for my kids or grandkids. Most of my devices use standard USB-C but then they show up with I-Phones and I-Pads that use the Apple Lightning charger connection and I don't have enough around. These solve that problem and let you use your USB-C cables as USB-C or as Lightning (Apple) cables. They work great. The rubber 'retainer' keeps them from getting lost, so they are around when you need them. They greatly increase the flexibility of usage of your cables.
