This looks awesome on the desk with the light and provides the current needed to power devices. A laptop can only supply a limited amount of current via the USB ports and this hub adds that missing current to power 10 devices. The best part is all the ports are data ports meaning the device plugged in can communicate with the host PC. There is an AC power adapter that must be plugged into a power source. The quality and construction is great and this is a great value for the money. It's durable and functions perfectly for my application. Currently I have 2 usb hard drives, 2 mice, a lamp, 2 mini TVs, ham radio and 3 pairs of headphones charging. No issues and the power adapter is just warm not hot. Highly recommend.
