High quality, easy to read across the room, easy peasy to set up. My mother in law was frequently mixing up her days and wasn’t sure when to take her medicine. Bought this to keep by her bed and she loved it. It was such a big hit we purchased a second one to place in the living room for my father . My elderly dad (92) who I am caring for has horrible sleep habits, he is awake for 3-hours then sleeps for 2...all day long! He does not like the blinds or curtains open (even on a beautiful day) and he just likes to sit and watch tv in his room or play cards on his computer. He has no sense of time and a couple months ago, completely lost a week...he thought it was February when we were already a week into March. I ordered him this clock and installed it, he likes it with the red, white and blue screen...it clearly indicates the Day of the Week, if it is morning, afternoon or evening, then the time and the date on the bottom. Best of all, he can read it from across the room. He is so proud to have it that he made me order one for his brother. It has several preset alarm settings which we do not use (Breakfast, take your pill, drink water, etc...) and you can use a usb stick (not included) to program additional alarms and customizations. you can change the colors, but the red, white and blue seems to be the easiest to read for a senior. It also has a remove control to change and program all the fancy stuff. And I was surprised, when I plugged it in, the time and date were already set, not sure if that is standard, but I'll take it! My mother has mild dementia and lives alone. This was a gift for her. It has reminders for her to take her medicines, drink water, or you can program it to remind them to do almost anything. The screen is nice and large and has various color combinations. Mom likes the red, white and blue one for the clock. It will also tell them if it is daytime or nighttime, etc. It comes with a remote, but if you are buying this for a reminder to take their medications, I recommend you put that remote away so they HAVE TO GET UP to take their meds! I bought one of these clocks for myself with my birthday money. It was pricey for me, but I am having more trouble knowing what time and DAY it is lately. I am over 70 and have been retired for a few years. The days kind of blend together. I need something bright and I love the RWB colors. I set a medication reminder for morning and evening that is super helpful. I love it so much that I bought a SECOND one for my bedroom. It is definitely helping me get to appointments on time (and on the right day)! It's easy to see without my glasses and I also love that it shows you morning, afternoon and evening.
