First of all, this is very well packaged. It comes in individual applicators, and the instructions are clear and easy to follow, which I always appreciate with a product like this. Now, because I have sensitive skin, I was a little cautious trying it. As with anything topical, there’s always a chance of irritation, so I like to be careful. In my case, though, I had no irritation at all, which was a huge plus. And as for what it’s actually supposed to do? It helps. Perimenopause really does come with all sorts of glamorous little surprises, and dryness is absolutely one of the more annoying ones. This provided nice, long-lasting moisture and made things a lot more comfortable. I also like that it’s a one-month supply, so you’re not running out immediately. Overall, this is easy to use, thoughtfully packaged, and a really nice option for women dealing with dryness and wanting something simple and effective. As a postmenopausal woman, I'm always on the search for products to help with female dryness issues. I've used several products similar to this before with good results, but unfortunately, this one was problematic for me. The product was nicely packaged, and came with individually wrapped applicators, which I found convenient. Unfortunately, the applicators did not fit onto the included tube of the product, so it was difficult to get the gel into the applicators without making a mess and wasting product as it spilled out the side. But that was the least of the issues with this moisturizing gel. The packaging notes that the moisturizing gel is both dermatologist and gynecologist tested. It also said that it's hypoallergenic, safe for sensitive skin, and non-irritating...but I found none of these to be the case. Within seconds of my applying the gel, I felt a burning sensation, which grew more burning as moments went by. It got to the point where the burning was painful, and I did my best to remove the gel. Once I removed the gel the burning soon stopped, but I was left with uncomfortable itching and general irritation in that area. In spite of this reaction, I decided to "take one for the team" and try it again the next day, on the chance that this had been a one-off reaction I had, that wouldn't repeat itself. Nope, not a one-off. Exact same thing happened...painful burning, followed by itching and general irritation. As I noted above, I've used several other moisturizing products before without any problems, but clearly this one contains something that is (at least to me) an irritant, or allergenic. When I looked over the ingredients list, I note that there are 2 types of acids (lactic and benzoic) in this, as well as benzyl alcohol...all three of which are known to be potential skin irritants or reactants--so I'm not sure why these are put in a product that is meant to be used in a very sensitive area! Overall, this product was a huge disappointment. Not only did it not provide the moisture and hydration as intended, but it actually caused me pain. As far as being "non-irritating", "hypoallergenic" and "safe for sensitive skin", this definitely was NOT the case for me, and I urge strong caution with this product.
