Update 06-26-2017 I originally ordered one pair. Fabric, zipper, button, fit and finish suited me well. Then I decided to order the remaining stock of 5 pair. All five pair claimed to have been in stock when ordering. Its been a few weeks and I have received them one or two pair at a time. I'm still waiting for my last pair to arrive over a month later?! No apologies or notice provided... Initial review May, 17, 2017 I searched Walmart, JcPenny, Burlington Coat Factory, Sears, Target and Macy's for the following: 100% polyester Button closure Size 42 I had a hell of a time finding my size. Although Burlington Coat Factory has these pants for $19.99, I couldn't find my size. I payed extra on amazon and I got the pants I wanted. The pants have a nice professional look, no wrinkle, machine washable, with a little stretch and best of all lint doesn't stick to these pants like most cotton pants. Most pants are a cotton blend, some a polyester blend, but 100% polyester is In my opinion the best you can buy that's looks good, keeps color, light and durable material. Read more
I ordered these pants in my typical size and they fit perfectly. They have a slightly lower belt line than is typical for me, but they work very well just the same - perhaps a bit more youthful appearance. The fabric is very comfortable, but does feel slightly synthetic. I believe they are polyester, but they don't look it when you're wearing them. I am planning to buy another pair in a different color. Update for the second pair, which is exactly the same in black. I have since washed both pairs and they came out very nicely - exactly the same fit, no wrinkles, and no visible change in fabric characteristics. Read more
For starters, I've worn Van Heusen pants for years and I couldn't be happier with their construction in general. I've been disappointed with fit and durability in a lot of other brands recently. Anyway, I put on an old pair of Van Heusen chinos the other day after another torn seam and was impressed with how well they fit and realized they were probably 7 or 8 years old. So I thought, "these are great. I'll just order a pair of these in the same size and be off to the races." Right? After receiving these, it took a little while for me to decide I was keeping them. The fit and construction are perfect with just a hint of stretch, but the taupe heather is a much darker color than pictured. Probably more of an olive than a slightly dark khaki. I was looking for these pants to be an every day pair for wearing to the office and these are just too dark for a go with everything daily wear. They are also definitely a lighter weight than the other pair of Van Heusen pants I still have in the closet. The price is solid and I have enough of a history with the brand that I'm confident recommending their pants. If the darker color suits your style, by all means order a pair of these with all the confidence in the world. I decided to keep them at the price for occasional wear with some shirts, but ended up ordering a more expensive pair of Bills Khakis in Nassau Twill for more all purpose wear. Read more
Body Type - 5'7" muscular build. I have VERY thick thighs (26.5 inches on bare skin), which makes it hard to find pants to fit my body and be comfortable without having to buy a size up to accommodate them. I have a 34" waist, but have to typically purchase loose/baggy fit jeans to not have them clinging to my thighs, and sometimes that isn't the case depending on the maker. Otherwise I have buy a 36" waist in relaxed fit or baggy fit and have a folding over affect of the denim when my belt is on. I always buy a 30" inseam for jeans. For these dress pants I purchased both a 34" and 36" to see how they would fit. Both were purchased in a 29" inseam, so they fit as dress pants should. The 36" was too large in the waist, as well as the thighs. However, the 34" is a PERFECT fit for my body, they have some room in the thighs for comfort and mobility, and do not cinch or bunch when you sit down either. If you have a normal body type, these pants will definitely be fairly baggy on you. BUT if you have that stocky or muscular build to your lower half, these pants are great. Very comfortable all the way around, and the flex waist helps to remain in constant comfort even when sitting down. Very good quality and comfortable. Found the item to be same as advertised. However, reading the reviews, I ordered one size down, normally I wear 36" waist, but based on the reviews ordered 34" waist and length as required. It turned out to be a very good decision. The fall is good and the looks are admired by the people who have seen me wearing the same. Would order more colours. The fit is perfect and does not bother. If you are looking to wear somewhat baggy and loose, you might order your true waist and length as required, however, if you like close fitting, order one size down as I experienced. These are good pants the only issue I have is the fit on these are alittle different than the ones I got from Kohls. The ones I purchased from kohls just have ultimate traveler on their label where the ones I got off amazon also state they are straight leg fit which seems to make them feel alittle more snug around the seat and crotch. I wish they would have called out the fitment (straight leg) of these better on amazon because I just wanted the regular van heusen ultimate traveler pants (not straight leg) I got from kohls just in a different color. Overall they are still nice and good quality pants in my opinion. Read more
