I worked as a commercial photographer, college photography instructor, and US Navy photographer spanning more than 40 years total. There are, of course, high end tripods costing many times what I paid for this one, but the quality and sturdiness of this one leaves nothing to be dissatisfied about. Everything works smoothly, locks securely, folds up and sets-up easily. It’s really a good deal. I have used all kinds of tripod heads over the years, but for some reason never had a ball head. I love this one. It releases slowly so the camera never gets away from you. Maybe carbon fiber next time, but for now aluminum is da bomb. Read more
I was hesitant to buy a tripod without physically seeing it, but I did my homework and decided on this tripod. This tripod has exceeded my greatest expectations. It is constructed with quality materials, and it’s design is superb. Good height , stable, connectors and holds felt very firm. its a bit heavy but its a big tripod, we evaluated a couple other tripods but they were cheaper and just felt more flimsy. NO regret. pads fell off shoe, contacted OEM and they sent a new shoe right away. Read more
Not many tripods can do overhead shots. Even less are real tripods, not "travel tripods". I needed to replace an aging Vanguard aluminum tripod that finally wore out. So, I gave this one a try. Its operation is consumer grade. (But so is its price) It has rough operation of many of its functions. But heck, it was under $200. If you want a decent quality and highly functional tripod - and need overhead - this is a good one to buy. I f you are a demanding pro level photographer... maybe look for a tripod with higher quality. I'm keeping mine and quite happy to accept its flaws. For less than $200, this allows me to do what I need to do, but also doesn't make me feel like I have to be nervous to use it. Read more
