Solid dashcam. I have been a Vantrue customer since 2020 and I recently upgraded one of my cars from using the old T2 that I got from 2020 to this N4S and WOW what a difference. First of all the T2 that I got in 2020 has been a tank and has worked now for 5 summers in the hot Southern California sun. Sometimes I'd put a sun shade up on my windshield and felt bad that the camera was extremely hot between the shade and the windshield, no issues. So far the N4S is exhibiting the same quality. The Starvis sensors on this camera really make it outstanding for capturing footage day and night and the Platpix works really well in capturing license plate numbers. The awesome thing about this is the interior cam and the rear cam are 1440P, providing a much clearer picture inside and in the rear than most cams at this price point which typically are 1080P. The Starvis sensor on the interior cam works REALLY well at night and looks quite clear compared to some of the other models I've looked at. I tried a Viofo once and the one thing that drove me nuts was how picky it was with the type of SD card you use. Not so here. Just use a good high endurance SD card and this camera will not miss a beat. Something that is ABSOLUTLEY critical for a dashcam. The Vantrue app works well, easy to connect over wifi, easy to pull footage, easy to configure the camera. IT JUST WORKS! Love it. Also one thing I REALLY love about this cam is they mount is separate from the body of the camera and they give you 2 mounts, so you can adhere each mount to a different car and grab the camera and easily move it between cars, the camera just slides/in and out of the mounts for easy moving. Lots of good accessories as well, I love the little attention to detail, including the cable management clips with adhesives that they included to route the rear camera wires cleanly. I think that's what I love about Vantrue overall is the attention to detail. One happy customer here. Will keep coming back. It's a huge huge huge upgrade from the T2, what a difference 5 years makes. Read more

The media could not be loaded. I’ve been using Vantrue products for a long time, so I figured I’d give the N4S a try. After testing it for a few days, I’m impressed overall. The attached video was recorded on a cloudy day and still looks very clear. What’s included: The kit comes with everything you need. It includes the front camera, rear camera, a 12V power cable, and a long cable to connect the two cameras. It also comes with plenty of adhesive mounts, which is a nice improvement over some older Vantrue kits I’ve used. This makes it easier to reinstall the camera if you switch cars later on. Note: A microSD card is required and not included. I’m using a SanDisk Ultra 64GB microSDXC and it’s been working well. Installation: Installation is pretty straightforward, but having a trim removal tool helps a lot if you want a clean install. The power cable can be routed along the windshield and tucked behind the interior trim. Doing this neatly with just your fingers can be a bit tricky. The cable for the rear camera is very long — easily enough for a larger SUV — so in a sedan you’ll have extra cable to deal with. I rolled up the excess and placed it behind a rear headrest, but you could also tuck it into the headliner if there’s room. Either way works fine. You can also hardwire the camera using an optional kit if you want to use parking mode features. I’ve done this in another vehicle and while it does require some basic electrical knowledge, it’s not too difficult. The included 12V plug works fine as long as your outlet stays powered when the car is off. Setup & use: Once powered on, the camera walks you through the basic setup like time, GPS, and G-sensor sensitivity. There are plenty of other settings you can adjust, such as resolution and loop recording. You can use the Vantrue app to download videos wirelessly, but I usually just remove the memory card and transfer the files that way. Overall: The build quality and performance are what I expect from Vantrue. Installation and setup are easy, with cable routing being the most time-consuming part. Once you know how you want to run the cables, installation takes about an hour. Video quality is very good, audio is clear, and everything has worked as expected so far. Overall, the Vantrue N4S 3-channel dash cam is a solid option and worth the price for the features you get. Read more

Records well and in good quality when its recording. The problem is recording is unreliable. At first I was only getting a couple clips over weeks of driving but thought I fixed it but now even when its recording all the time it still likes to cut out and not record at times. There are whole hours where it cuts out, one clip will be from the last few minutes and the previous will be an hour old despite it having been plugged in, working, and driving at the time. I'd steer clear of this one if you want a dashcam that can reliably protect you from any incidents. Read more
