The item looked fantastic! I couldn't wait to use it. The box and packaging were fine. When I took the item out of this box and laid everything on my table, I noticed a tiny imperfection. A very small piece of plastic from the housing that surrounded the main lens of the front camera just flaked off. It looks like an error of manufacturing. The guy I spoke to at customer service was kind and patient. I had to send the product back to Amazon. Now I'm waiting for It to be received by Amazon and credited to my account so I can place another order again. No fun. I wish I had better news. Not quite yet. The rear camera looked fine! Update: I have installed my replacement cameras. The rear was tricky because I do have a retractable sun shade. I discovered that my car's real window has a slight bubble arch to it that allows me to position the rear camera on the glass and not worry about it getting bumped by the automatic sliding rear sunshade. I had to trim the plastic mounting stickers so that they would not touch the heated glass elements on the rear window, but it looks and works just fine. When it comes to installing the front camera and the GPS mount, I can say because of my own mistake to just make sure that the camera slides and snaps *all the way* into the GPS mount. If you are off by a hair, the camera will not work right. I found out that when you play back videos, you are going to get 1 video from each camera direction. For example, if you have your camera set to record in 1 minute loops, then when you have 5 minutes of driving that you would like to review, the app playback will show you 10, 1-minute videos. The videos will appear in chronological order. They will be shown in alternate: first a front driving video and afterwards a rear driving video. I can live without the artificial intelligence features. They make me feel like I have a backseat driver in the car! You can turn this feature off if you'd like. It is redundant of features that I already have. I want to try to maximize all of the fancy features of the camera so I kept the HDR switch to on. When my playback videos seemed too bright or too dark. I just went into the settings menu and modified the exposure level to make a dark image lighter and a light image darker. The nighttime photo and videos are very, very good. Read more

Live view is slightly delayed and choppy, rear camera flashes on screen every few seconds, the video quality is very clear. The 24hour security motion detection is very good, it takes a video and a picture when motion is detected. Even on a low setting its a bit sensitive. I wish I could disable the voice warning and and replace it with a aound instead of the voice, its a bit annoying. If not on live view on the phone the wifi gets disabled and you have to manually turn it on. Read more

I’m really impressed with the Vantrue S1 Pro Max. The video quality is excellent, especially at night, and the dual 4K setup gives me confidence that I’ll capture important details if anything ever happens on the road. The STARVIS 2 sensors, PlatePix night vision, and HDR make a noticeable difference, and the footage looks sharp and clear in both front and rear views. What I like most is how feature-rich it is without feeling gimmicky. I also like the extra features like GPS, voice control, parking mode, and the driving alerts. For me, it feels like a premium dash cam that’s built for serious protection. If you want a reliable, high-end dash cam with outstanding image quality and smart features, this one is absolutely worth it. Read more

As a regular dash camera it's fine. The 4k is nice. However, i bought this one for the AI features and they are horrible. Not only does the voice sound ridiculous (which you can ignore) but the AI itself does not work consistently enough to trust your safety to it. It may, or may not, see oncoming vehicles, rear traveling vehicles, or side vehicles, whenever it feels like it. You cannot trust it not to back up into something, or pull up onto something and you cannot trust it to perform fast enough or accurate enough to be of any use. Also, you cannot use wireless Carplay or Android Auto if you want to connect to the dashcam via the app, and everytime you try, it disconnects and tries to connect back to carplay. You have to turn off wireless carplay each time you want to mess with the app. As a regular dashcam, ok, but so are dozens of other models that cost half the price. the concept is good, the execution is horrible. After a few days of use, and the frustrating carplay/wifi issue, this is going back. Also, the adhesive does not hold in Florida, especially during seasonal changes. Read more

This is my upgrade from earlier Model which was also working fine. But I was attracted towards the AI capability of this S1 model which helps in lane changing, blind spot and pedestrian etc. The one thing I like about Vantrue is the ease of installation, easier interface with App. Taking videos from dashcam to mobile through app is easier. My earlier dash cam had a issue with the cable and the support team readily sent a free replacement. So that way the support system is active. Read more

The media could not be loaded. I really liked this dash cam when I got it but 4 days in, it began to restart over and over again and then it stopped coming on all-together. The video that it did record was REALLY sharp and detailed. The time lapse that it recorded while the vehicle was parked was impressive but after it began to reboot repeatedly, it caused me to doubt its reliability since it isn't even hot outside yet and our summers can be brutal. I even bought the Vantrue branded MicroSD card recommended for it because I know how finicky dash cameras can be with various Micro SD cards. I used the Vantrue power cable since I didn't want to risk flaky behavior with some off brand cable. The Vantrue cameras get very good reviews which is why I picked this brand. My experience may just be a fluke but I returned mine and bought a Rove R2. The Vantrue was more impressive in terms of video quality and features but reliability is what I'm looking for in a dash camera. I may try Vantrue again in the future just to see if my first experience was an anomaly. Read more
