24 hours since I've bought this and it's really fantastic thus far. It's a very high quality item, precisely engineered and built to last. No leakage whatsoever on my bottle, and loving everything about it: the nice water taste, the solid construction, light weight, and the beautiful aesthetics. I got it on sale for about 40% off. Would it be worth the full price? Hmmm, probably not. It's a great water bottle but not worth the $140.00 price tag. Getting it under $100, well it's still expensive but I can live with that given that it's a very nice item. Definitely no regrets investing in it. Read more
Titanium Para Bottle worked great at first. After a couple weeks of regular use I have begun to taste metal in my mouth. After some investigation it appears material where the lid screws on has begun to file off. After a quick test of screwing on the lid and then unscrewing I can see metal dust when wiped off with a paper towel (or my finger). The metal taste is severe enough to feel it in my sinuses and it lasts for hours. I will now be researching side effects of ingesting titanium assuming the marketing literature is correct and there are no additional coatings. I was very excited for a daily water bottle that would not impart a metallic flavor and could be used over a fire in say an emergency hiking situation. Definitely does not meet expectations especially at this very high end price! Read more
I wanted a lightweight, titanium, lead-free water bottle for daily use. This is easy to open and fill, has a wide mouth for cleaning, & convenient carry loop. It's titanium so won't hold liquid temperature and will feel hot/cold to touch depending on what's inside. Removed one star bc of $$$$ - unless you're looking for something very specific, I wouldn't recommend it at this price point. Read more
Excellent design, fits backpack side pockets perfectly. The paracord loop holds the lid attached, making it safe to use on-the-move or in precarious locations. Easy to secure the bottle to the pack too, using the loop. Wide mouth makes it easy to use with a range of filters and water bladders, and easy to clean. The bottle is shaped from 2mm single walled titanium plate, very sturdy. Yet, mine comes in at 252 grams (rather than the 280 grams advertised). An absolute delight. Well done Vargo! Read more
This is a dangerous product. The quality is beyond abysmal for a 160$ item, it has terrible quality control. The titanium lip is so poorly machine that it sheds titanium shards and metals when opening and closing the bottle. I used it one day and tasted metal. I go to wipe the bottle and I see shards of titanium. I go to message customer service and they tell me that is normal for metal bottles (to taste metal)! That is Insane - I used a stainless steel nalgene and never tasted metal once in my life. Customer service advice is to open and close the bottle until it smooths out - this doesn't work because the machining on the grooves is so poor - I could spend the rest of my life opening and closing this bottle to no avail (also why should I have to do this for 160$ bottle - as if I need to do your work). Stay away from this brand and product. They have terrible quality control and for a premium price you get a terrible product. Dangerous, it is toxic to drink titanium shards and it is not normal to taste metal when using these products. I have bought from reputable brands and promise you - YOU SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO TASTE METAL IN YOUR WATER. Huge disappointment. Read more
If you love your Vargo Ti bottle don’t ever, ever, ever, ever, EVER accidentally drop it on its top! It will bend and cave in the cap and the cap can get jammed. Also with the cap threads and bottle threads feeling a bit gritty you will find that the drinking surface will have a slight metallic taste and you will see gray Ti dust wipe off on a damp cloth when cleaning the threaded portion of the bottle and cap. For the money it’s not at all what I expected. Read more
This titanium water bottle was the only one with an attached lid. For that reason I'm keeping it even though, mine leaks through the rivet hole in the lid, as other reviews warned it might. I fixed it with a dab of sealant. That said:-- Even the cheapest water bottle should retain water. For Vargo to have put their premium canteen on the market in this condition is reprehensible. Having to add foreign material to the inside of the lid is less than desirable, even if it is described as "food grade". If that dab of sealant ever comes loose, there's a good chance I'll drink it and the bottle will leak again. The bottle itself is made of a sturdy gauge of titanium. The screw lid and bottle mate with exceptionally deep threads which should never wear out. The lid to bottle connector does the job without kinking. Read more
Nice, light weight, does not make water taste funny, texture gives good grip. Despite its light weight it feels sturdy, like it will last a lifetime. The lid is a bit heavy, I understand folks are 3d printing replacements of lighter materials. Read more
