A touchpad on the front of the base cycles through 10 different modes: solid colors like red, blue, pink, teal, yellow, and white; rainbow scrolls that wash up and down the pole; and slow fades that shift from one color to the next. The brightness is strong enough to illuminate half the room, and the variety ranges from party-vibe flashing to more calming, ambient glows. I’ve run the lights for hours at a time and they stay cool to the touch with no flickering. Holding the button down for a few seconds will turn them off - a detail I had to figure out since the instructions didn’t mention it. In terms of build, the stand isn’t the most stable on its own. Lightweight headsets sit fine, but heavier gear or repeated handling can tip it over. I added two strips of double-sided foam tape to anchor it to my desk, and now it feels much more secure. The plastic casing feels lightweight but doesn’t scratch easily, and so far, it’s held up well through daily use. It isn't very heavy, so it couldn't hold my headphones very well, but it worked for a couple of small game controllers. The RGB light was pretty bright and though there were limited choices in the colours and patterns, it was pretty cute. But after a couple of months it stopped working.
