After having a Trapeziectomy several weeks ago, I was put in a hard plastic splint at bandage removal and recheck. This thing was so uncomfortable and actually hurt. The Velpeau Thumb Wrist Brace was the 4th other splint I bought to try to serve my needs ( a rigid sturdy support). It fills the bill and works great! This is the 5th brace I have gone through since having a PRP injection, 2 months ago, in my wrist, for De Quervain's tenosynovitis (a painful condition affecting the tendons on the thumb side of the wrist) and it works the best for me. I had to find a brace that would protect & stabilize my wrist & thumb, that would help minimize the swelling and protect it from the hypersensitivity of the tenosynovitis. Because I have small hands & wrists, finding the right brace has been challenging, until I found this Velpeau Brace. The positioning of the velcro wraps allows me to customize where I need the most protection. In the beginning, the metal plate that forms to the bottom of my wrist & hand had an awkward fit, but once I twisted it to the side & pulled it farther down my hand, it conformed perfectly to the shape of my hand and wrist. I'm glad I stuck with this brace and played around with adjusting it to my body (this was an absolute MUST, for a perfect, customizable fit). It had proven to give me support in all the right places and protects me from further damaging my tendons. Another huge revelation was putting the cotton sleeve on (3 sleeves were provided in the package) before I put on the brace. The cotton sleeve is so simple, but surprisingly, it protects my skin from becoming raw or irritated and I don't get any pinching from the seems on the brace. One brace arrived used, including dog hair and some visible wear on the straps. I actually ended up buying two of these braces. I ordered one, and then misplaced the box in my house before I even opened up the box. So I ordered a second one. That one has been great. It is comfortable and it supports my wrist for sleeping and most activities. It is new and clean. Well I just found the original brace that I ordered - still in the box. I opened the box and discovered that the brace had clearly been used. There is lots of white pet hair on it and some visible wear on the straps. Unfortunately, it is now outside of their return window for either brace. I just think it’s disgusting and disappointing that returned braces are just resold without actually checking the product inside. Read more

I needed this for mouse use withbeginning stages of carpal tunnel. I worked an entire work day and I am not in pain! Along with stretches and flexing, I believe this will help out greatly. This splint is not bulky, is adjustable, comfortable to wear, is soft and comes with a few soft liners to wear so skin doesn't get irritated. Read more

I tried 3 other types of wrist/thumb splints and wasn't satisfied. I recently purchased this brand in a size small. Fits nicely. My wrist is 6 1/2" This is by far is the best splint that I've tried. Easy on and off and very comfortable. I can wear it for hours without any issues. If I have to have surgery, this will definitely be my go to splint. Read more
