MacBooks are good laptops but the newer ones just do not have enough ports available. Probably only a few USB-C ports. No more Ethernet, USB-A, monitor connection. What to do? You’ll need an USB hub. This one is a nice portable one with all the ports that are missing on the MacBook. It doesn’t have the Ethernet connection but it does have everything else. I have only used the USB-A ports and SD card reader. It worked well for what I use it for. I typically prefer this to a USB dock for it's versatility. Being a 6 in 1 USBc accessory, it's important to be able to connect different devices through one cable. I've purchased from Vention before and the quality of their adapters is always excellent for the price. The USB ports seem to run at full speed and I've noticed no latency versus a USB port directly on my system. If you like the peace of mind having a tool for any moments notice, I definitely think this is the one to get. I haven't used an SD card in 10 years, but now I'm prepared! I got this docking station to use with my cell phone (Android). My phone doesn't allow for SD cards, so when I realized how many pictures I actually have on my phone, I decided it was time to clear some off. This little docking station includes inputs for USB (x2), USB-C, SD card, and MicroSD card. The cord end is USB-C, which fits in my phone's charging port. File transfer is seamless and very quick. Sometimes I have to wait for my phone to recognize the device/memory card, but when it does, everything works like a dream. I like the long, slim look to it, and the fact that the device doesn't take up a whole lot of room. The only thing I could see that would improve the design is if the cord fit in the device, like it clicked into place on the back. This is a convenient USB-C dock that works great with my Macbook Pro 16 M1 Max, this works great to add an external monitor and my backup drive. I have a 100w power supply and this can power the laptop as well so I only need to connect one cable and have my entire desktop workstation with a large monitor, wired keyboard, and my backup drives all connected easily. It also has another SD slot as well as a microSD slot, perfect for importing my DSLR photos and GoPro footage. I think this is a good value! Read more

This compact docking station works with my Mac, iPad and Windows laptop. It is light and compact. The docking station slips easily into a pocket in a carrying case. I’m using it primarily to add additional powers to my Mac and iPad. The two USB 3.0 ports come in handy. The USB-C port is bidirectional. I can connect the docking station to my iPad and power the iPad via the USB-C PD port. Power draw is the same as if the power source is connected directly to the iPad. Price is very reasonable.
