I purchased these for a master bathroom remodel and they are very sturdy. The size was spot on and they are a good size for shampoos, conditioner bottles, etc. They look great installed and tiled. This product worked great for what we needed. The niches are a nice size and fit our shampoo bottles. It came with a bulky shelf that was supposed to be position in the biggest niche. We ended up not using it because the tile didn’t fit the shelf or look right. We got a piece of marble and created the shelf instead. Also it came with an odd bolt for the install process. We ordered two of these inserts for our contractors to install during the update we did to our 25-year-old bathroom tub area. We put one horizontally on the long wall (for supplies when in the tub and as an accent when the shower curtain is pulled back) and the other vertically on the back wall (for those who tend to shower rather than bathe/soak). Contractors used the same simple tile used in the rest of the tub area around the shelving, but used a decorative tile matching our sink area for the back of the shelf inserts. We also added grab bars (more contemporary, not the standard 'handicap grab bars') for our older guests who may need added support getting in and out of the tub area. We wanted something that was both functional yet looked nicer. Each shelf insert comes with an optional adjustable middle shelf. We didn't use the added shelf in the horizontal insert installed, as we wanted that horizontal shelf to be more of a continuous accent (almost like a photo on a wall...but also storage for items used by those who soak in the tub). We used the extra adjustable shelf in the vertical unit to create 3 sections (rather than 2) to store smaller supplies for those who take showers. The contractors found it easy to build supports for the inserts and grab bars. A contractor recommended adding a little silver metal trim, which added an even more finished look. This is the only type of unit like this I have ever used, I bought two for our new walk in shower and there was no problem installing or putting in the tile. It served its purpose perfectly, there is not much else to say! The tiler wanted me to buy them made by a company called Schluter, but they were sold out of the size we needed so we bought these, they were quite a bit cheaper than the Schluter brand and the tiler said he had not used this brand before but they were just as good. The tiler said he would use them in the future. After all they are just a foam box. Read more
