The first time setup was easy, and when I stepped on the vibration plate, it was after a long day of sitting at my desk. I decided to put the plate on the living room floor and use the remote to turn it on. I expected the plate to just make a buzz and do nothing else. The moment I stepped on it started vibrating, and I quickly realized it was a lot more powerful than I expected. When standing on the plate with my knees bent, I found that my body had to engage all of the muscles required to maintain that balance. Almost immediately, I could feel my legs and core muscles working. It is a weird sensation at first to feel like your whole body is being shaken, but after a couple of minutes, it becomes a lot easier. I definitely noticed that there was a huge difference between the lower and higher speeds. The lower speeds felt like more of a massage, whereas the higher speeds required a lot more balance. Just standing on the plate at the same time as doing squats or calf raises is surprisingly challenging, and it becomes a lot harder to do even just regular moves like that if you actually do use the vibration plate while doing those things. I also used the resistance bands and did some basic standing arm curl and row exercises. This helps turn it into a more full-body workout instead of primarily a leg workout. One thing I like is how compact it is. It is easy to move and does not take up a lot of space, so it is easy to actually use it regularly instead of leaving it set up like a giant piece of gym equipment. The only adjustment is getting used to the vibration the first few times you use it. It can feel a little strong until you find the speed level that works best for you. It really helps to take the place of an office chair and get your legs moving. I find that when I use it, my legs activate more, and I can easily do a few minutes of light work while listening to music or watching something. Read more

This Movpeak vibration plate is a pretty affordable introduction to WBV (whole body vibration). I was unfamiliar and somewhat skeptical with the whole concept until I ordered this. I was especially intrigued about the supposed improvements in circulation, pain management, proprioception and lymphatic drainage with WBV. Note that this model has a remote which requires 2 AAA batteries. It’s not essential, but it makes it much less awkward to turn on and use. The instructions say to use it for 10 minutes daily to start. After only using it for a few days, I’ve noticed it’s helped me with my proprioception and balance. It’s a strange sensation stepping on the plate and it’s almost overwhelming. But over time I found using it quite relaxing and even meditative. It’s a nice addition to my morning routine. Note that you cannot manually adjust the frequency or direction of vibration if that is of importance to you. And the built in programs are quite limited and focused more on the fitness/fat burning/recovery aspect of WBV. But the default setting seems to work well for me and my needs. Some points of frustration with this model: When you turn off the power, the display does not turn off. The only way to get it to stop drawing power is to unplug it. It has a very short cord (maybe 3 feet). But it is a standard 3 prong PC power cable so you may be able to replace it with a longer one. There is also a pretty useless Bluetooth function as well that’s often added on with cheap Chinese electronics and I’m not sure why. No way to turn off that function that I could find either. Overall I ordered this with dubious expectations and I am pleasantly surprised with the results I’ve had. Manage your expectations according to the price point and this vibration plate is decent.
