ViewSonic quality control in these is lacking
I ordered this as a manufacturer's refurbished item. It was shipped by ViewSonic, not Amazon. It has been my experience in the past that big name manufacturers refurbs are as good as the new ones, but at a pretty decent cost savings. This item took a long time to ship and had very clearly been received by someone, returned and shipped to me by the company without even inspecting it. The cables were loose in the box, their wire ties just thrown in. There were also finger smudges on the monitor. Not what you would expect from a factory. The company refused to work with me about returning, inspite of my telling them that getting to a UPS shipping facility was impossible for me. Amazon came through in the end and just refunded the item without my having to send it back. End of the day, the item was defective beyond just being used, (not counting that it was refurbed and I know "refurbed" is used, but restored to working order and factory specifications) - no audio and my opinion about ViewSonic quality has been diminished. No inspection of returned items and putting them back into stock? Unacceptable. Customer service tho? Outstanding. Read more
