My husband absolutely loves this soap! A friend of his gave him some Dr. Sasquach to try and he said it was ok but preferred the charcoal bodywash he had been using. That when I told him I saw some charcoal bar soap when ordering his beard shampoo which he recommends to every man he sees with a beard. He wanted to try it and he has fallen in love! This soap is now on our subscribe and save. I have to keep ordering in-between our regular orders as he gives bars away to friends to try. He especially loves it in the summer. He is a welder and he says it helps to keep all the dirt and metal grime out of his pores without drying out his skin. I love the smell. Just like the viking revolution beard care it smells great! If you haven't tried this and are looking for a bar soap to help keep you clean without drying you, this is it. Read more

Haven't done a lot of reviews here on Amazon, usually just buy and that's it. Have to comment on this soap. I'll just post what I sent Viking Revolution through their contact email... "What's up guys. First off, I'm not a beard guy so I'm not into beard products. BUT...the charcoal soap...WOW. Not sure what plans you guys have in the future but y'all have to expand this line. Deodorant...body and face lotion...something. I'm usually using body wash but this big a** puck has me looking at bar soap. First time using a charcoal bar and went searching for other products. But nothing quite smells like this one. Only if the scent was just a tad stronger or lingered a little longer. I'd definitely pay more for that. Great soap fellas...will definitely be buying more, stuff smells good AF." And to add on, the smell is very fresh, NOT perfume-like. Masculine but not overpowering. Personally, I could withstand it being a tad bit stronger and have it linger just a little longer. As far as lather, there's a lot of it and the soap leaves you squeaky clean. It did burn a little in a couple areas first time using but after that no more, so i'm not exactly sure how someone with sensitive skin would react to the soap. Try not to have it under the water for too long, the soap will dissolve faster. I highly recommend to try this one out fellas, great buy. Read more

I have used many of Viking Revolution's products. I use their beard wash and conditioner as my sole shampoo and beard care regimen in the shower. I've used their shaving products as well. Everything has been great. So, I decided to try this bar of soap out as well. It's pretty good, but I definitely see some room for improvement. First of all, the soap works as it should. It lathers easily and well, cleans well, and doesn't have an overpowering scent. I don't tend to have sensitive skin, but the formula leaves my skin feeling soft and surprisingly moisturized. So, it does it's job well. A+ The scent: This is where my first complaint comes in. I don't hate it, but I certainly don't love it. The scent is supposed to be peppermint and eucalyptus scented, but to me (and my wife and children) it smells like Expo markers. I can get a little peppermint - but honestly I can't get past the Expo marker smell. To go along with that perception, the dead sea mud and charcoal actually colors your skin black while lathered up (but rinses away fine with no residue or staining). If you read this review VR, please consider changing the formula slightly to help here. The lather: The soap lathers really well and, as stated above, actually leaves a black film from the charcoal on your skin. It rinses away easily and leaves your non-stained skin feeling soft and refreshed. I don't know that the activated charcoal and dead sea mud actually do anything for your skin, but it's definitely popular to include them in soaps today. The shape: So here is the other issue I have run into with this bar soap. It's a round disc, that very much resembles a hockey puck. While I like the stamped branding and it does look cool - it can be very hard to hold onto when in use. The round shape makes it even more likely to pop right out of your hand while lathering up and probably happens at least once or twice a week to me. VR - Please consider changing the shape. While I realize that this can happen to square bars as well, they tend to be easier to hold onto in my experience. Overall, I'd say this soap is good. It's not too expensive for a natural brand and leaves your skin feel clean and refreshed. Read more

I bought this soap to use on my face and beard. My face and neck skin is typically very sensitive to most soaps, face washes, cleansers, etc., and I figured I'd try this activated charcoal & Dead Sea mud soap. The presence of essential oils only helped me to make up my mind. This leaves my skin feeling refreshed, clean, and moisturized; as well as making my beard softer and more manageable to brush and comb. It's got a pleasant, mild smell, and builds into a rich, frothy lather. It's easy to get lost in the froth. In all seriousness, I'd definitely recommend this to anybody with a face, and especially anybody with a face that they'd like to clean without using a bunch of harsh chemical garbage. Viking Revolution, you've won me over. Skeggǫld! Skálmǫld! Skildir klofnir! Read more

I heard this soap doesn't lather, that's not true...but it helps if you have soft water. I felt clean after using this soap. I do wish it was stronger scented, but I'm glad it isn't full of chemicals. I like the bar size, not tiny like the Duke Cannon bars and not the typical shape. Fit in my hand fine. The best part of this soap is the clean feel. My skin wasn't dry after my shower, the scent lingered well but not strong. The hairs on my arms and legs felt softer to my wife as well.
