I have been looking to replace my old thermostat with a new smart thermostat for a few months. Just recently I came across this vine Smart Thermostat and I couldn’t be happier. It’s a great value at 1/3 the cost of the big name smart thermostats. This is easily the best bang for your buck on the market right now. Whether you’re putting this into a drafty smart home or a busy office, it hits all the right notes. The 7 day, 8 programs per day feature is a game changer. I can fine tune the temperature for my morning breakfast and coffee, midday sun, afternoon, naps, and deep sleep without ever touching the thermostat itself. The set up could not be easier. It connected instantly to my Wi-Fi and now I can just say “Alexa set the temperature to 72°,“ while I am cooking or doing other chores, and it reacts instantly. Since it’s energy star certified, I’ve already noticed a 15% drop in my monthly utility bill. It’s efficient without being aggressive or locking you out of your own settings like some other economy thermostat brands do. It’s sleek design looks professional, and modern on the wall. The interface is intuitive enough that my least tech-savvy family members can use it without calling me for support. Another useful feature on this thermostat is that it gives you both inside and outside temperatures on the display. Beautiful wifi thermostat. Works great. Easy to install and setup. On a piece of paper I just wrote down what color wires went to what letter before removing them from my old thermostat. Made it less much easier when installing the wires to this one. I love how I can lay in bed in the morning and if the house is cold, I can go ahead and kick the heat on and warm the house up. I’m not using the app that comes with the unit. I am using the app called Tuya. I use this app for the majority of all my Wi-Fi type devices. That way I can keep everything all on one app. For the prices unit so far is a really great deal. It’s pretty cool. The screen tells you what the inside of the house is and what you have your temperature set at. And then after a certain period of time it’ll bounce back to another screen, which will tell you what the outside temperature is of your local area. Screen has good color and a nice brightness, but not overpowering brightness. I have not found an option yet for the screen to go to sleep at night. The screen is always awake. Read more
I bought this thermostat thinking, people must be doing something wrong (other Amazon listing has 500+ reviews). I told myself, if the temp is reading incorrectly, I can just use the calibration setting to dial it in. This thermostat looks great, and honestly the app and WiFi are great- However… the thermostat didn’t do its actual job, to maintain or read the temperature! Right off the bat it read 4 degrees hotter in the room after installing. I used the calibration setting in advanced, and corrected it. Then it widely fluctuated over the first night, sometimes dropping down 10-14 degrees below actual. By the morning it was showing that the room was 75 degrees, and I had it set at cool, 77 degrees. I was sweating so I confirmed on a digital thermostat that it was 83 in the room. Calibrated it again hoping that would help.. it didn’t. This thermostat just doesn’t read the correct temp in the room regardless of how you calibrate it. As others said, I have no idea how this company is in business, as their thermostat product line doesn’t do the simple job that it is intended to do. Spend the little extra for a reputable brand, it’s not worth you going crazy trying to figure out what temperature this is going to pick, or having your AC/heat cycle on and off… or worse run all day when your gone trying to get your house to an imaginary temperature. The media could not be loaded. Fantastic thermostat! Very easy to install. Simply match the colored wires. This thermostat does require a C wire for permanent power. I installed the app from the Apple, App Store and easily connected the thermostat to my Wi-Fi. I was able to quickly create a seven day schedule to adjust the temperature for each day based on our work schedule. The thermostat is very sleek and modern looking looks very attractive on the wall so far working wonderfully and a very nice price. Read more
On the plus side: installation is simple, the thermostat looks great with a bright display and it has lots of adjustable features. On the minus side, like other users, I had to adjust the ambient temperature display at +6 deg Fahrenheit to be accurate and the outside temperature displayed seems to be updated randomly so it rarely is accurate. I contacted support to see what could be done about this 4 days ago ... Awaiting a reply. All things considered, I like the thermostat and the app and wifi control, I am keeping it. Read more
