Replaced my A119 that malfunctioned after a few years. I only have the front cam, A129. The camera functions similarly, however the parking mode is way better. The ability to connect to your IPhone to download pictures is much better than pulling the card and adapting to your PC. It does not kill my battery. The A119 would put strain on my Jeep battery after a month or two and require me to charge the battery, even with nearly daily driving. This A129 times out in parking mode after the 24hrs I have set and doesn’t bother my battery one bit. Much better cheap camera (mount is better too). Read more

I've had this dash cam for almost three months now. It's pretty easy to configure, and because I Iive in southern New Mexico, I needed a dashcam that had a super capacitor for the heat here. The daytime picture is really good, the night time picture is also pretty good. I have a 12,000 mah power bank USB battery I keep under my visor that supplies power...no cords to a cigarette adapter. This can power the dash cam for at least 12 hours. It's a little tricky connecting my phone via wifi, but I like that I can do it. The video files show my exact speed per the GPS on the unit. Probably due to the on board super capacitor, the cam has never failed to operate as it should. I'm going to buy another one for my other car. Read more

In November, 2022, I purchased four (4) of these cameras as gifts. Everything was in the package as stated in the description. I also bought the VIOFO Circular Polarizing Lens (CPL) Filter for the A129 and the most durable SD card available. (I live in NC where summers are scorchers.) None were hard wired so they were very easy to install. I found the picture quality to be excellent. My only complaint is downloading just one video takes a long time. It takes too long to connect to the wifi for starters. I also have to refer to the instructions each time because I just don't do it enough to remember the steps. Today, July 30, 3025, one of the cameras wouldn't turn on. We went through the troubleshooting videos to no avail. But from what we've read, this particular camera has a history of failing. The media could not be loaded. I've had mine for 4 years and it still works great. I cannot speak to the parking mode or bluetooth button, but it has held up great sitting in the South Texas sun for 4 years. Fortunately I have not *needed* the footage, but I have used it to export some of my off road adventures. I am finally replacing this with a mirror style dash cam, but plan to continue using this one in our new vehicle. Read more

The media could not be loaded. I wanted a dashcam that had the built-in WiFi so I could easily access videos to my phone instantly vs pulling the card out every time like on my A119. I bought this (as an upgrade from my A119) and not even a month later took a road trip from RI to TN and on the very last day I got side swiped. My insurance told me that the video alone basically saved me to make this claim 100% on them. That reasoning alone is why I will always stress to EVERYONE get a dash cam!! I was able to download the video and email it to insurance after the claim same day. I was weary on this model because I didn't want two linked cameras for front & rear vs two separate camera set-up since sets tend to have mixed/not so good reviews. I was glad I was able to get just the main unit, shows GPS location down to the street, able to mute or unmute mic, tracks speed, date & time which is awesome. It also locks and saves videos on impact and saved this video I screen recorded which I love. Only thing I noticed is when the time lapse is set to 10 minutes the download is crazy slow....but 5 minutes was only a few minutes to download, so super easy fix. For the price this is hard to beat. It has lots of great features, including a Wifi app, but resolution/quality even on the highest settings are slightly disappointing. I have everything configured to provide the sharpest possible image (highest resolution and bit rate, etc.), and if a car is more than 30' away, zooming in on a screenshot of a license plate is iffy at best, even if the footage was taken in bright daylight (screencaps taken in VLC). Something seems off to me. Yes, I removed the protective films, and yes, my window is reasonably clean (normal conditions). I have attached two photos: one of the unit in a fantastic little case I found for it (see below), and a screencap showing the problem I described. The van in front of me is semi-readable, and was about 25 feet away. The car 15-20 feet further away on the left is unreadable, as is the plate close to me on the left. And yes, I have the CPL filter installed on the lens. Configuring this was a bit of a hassle. The Wi-Fi app is not intuitive, and some quick googling led me to discover you have to temporarily disable your cellular data the first time you use it to get the camera to connect. Once configured, the camera itself acts as the network your phone connects to. This means your phone cannot be connected to any other Wi-Fi network while you are connected to the camera. I have no idea why they don't just allow you to use Bluetooth for this--it would be simpler to set up, that's for sure. Honestly, having integrated security video will be a factor in the next car I purchase. This is all way too much work. Many PCs will not play the default file format this records in as they lack the correct video codec (H.265) or enough processing power. I think there must be a way to change the format it records in, but I was unable to find the configuration setting to change in either the app or the camera itself. To get this to play files on your PC, I suggest using VLC Player. It is free, and if you are running the latest version (check for updates in the application), it will run them just fine if your PC has the juice for HD at this level. If you experience dropped frames or choppy video when playing back on your computer, this is probably because your computer is not equipped with a GPU to support this high resolution of video (many aren't; if you don't have a dedicated video card in your PC, you may experience this). My office desktop does not have a dedicated video card and the video is a bit choppy if other things are running--expected.
