Customers find the dash cam's video quality very good, with clear images day or night, and appreciate that it's pretty straightforward to install.

The media could not be loaded. This is a great dash cam, clear images day or night, has front and rear facing cameras. Comes with everything needed for installation including a trim removal tool and extra 3M VHB tape pieces. Only other item needed is a micro SD memory card. It automatically records if the G shock sensor is triggered and the sensitivity of that can be adjusted. Has GPS so it can stamp on the recording the speed and location but that can be removed if your prefer. Read more
Maybe my standards are too high, but even though the resolution of the camera is 2k as advertised, the camera itself, the processor? is not good. However, this isn't a dig against *this* camera but rather *all dashcam cameras* I want these to be affordable and also good, however, it seems like dashcams are not something that have the demand for excellence like say, something like a graphics card does, technologically speaking. I hear the 4k version of this is good, however, it costs more than I'm fine with. In the future, I think I will skip out on a rear camera; i had issues with placement for the rear window in my Bolt EV where it didn't have a heating element go through the visibility of the camera while also being able to see things at night. I also had issues with setting up the placement of the camera due to the custom USB cable it uses, and the length of the rear cam cable restricting potential placement of the front camera while not also blocking the windshield. I think for dashcams to be worth this price or more, they should probably have a nightvision setting (which good nightvision is in a similar boat of being a niche and thus expensive product), and also come pre-packaged with a new car as part of its built in package; the existing cameras on my new 2023 car that are used for parking are actually very good and work well, except you can't use them to record. Back to this though; the software on this device is mid, the software wants you really to use your phone to configure it but the UI on the device is arguably better than the shoddy phone app and the clunky way of connecting to the device over a temp wifi ssid instead of just over bluetooth or some other means of communicating. Sometimes when the SD card is full it'll act like you just popped a full SD card in there and ask if you want to overwrite it instead of just doing it automatically without asking. The microphone is mid, it can barely record your voice if you have music going, and even with me, who is driving an electric vehicle, the cabin is already very quiet so there's not a lot of noise pollution. The camera itself is poor; if you want to read license plates better be during the day while you're 20" away from the car. I have seen the photos of the 4k version and they are much more acceptable, and it's not because of the increase in resolution, but the increased processor that is in the 4k version. Seriously, we needed that kind of CPU in this camera resolution, there's no point in 4k resolution itself, that's not the part that stinks. Sony is the only one that makes the CPUs for these dashcams, it seems. Is it worth it? I think so in the end, it's just best to curb your expectations and instead look at this like an investment that should help any future insurance claims if and when you get in an accident. Read more
The media could not be loaded. Let me Start " DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME TO BUY RENEW UNIT". I've learned the hard way and did not want any of you fall in same step. The camera completely shut down after a few months. I was thought it's cable issue, but I WAS WRONG. The cable is working really well as you could see in the video. Think about it, what happen if the camera failed (not recording) during the time you really need it (in car accident or whatever reason). On top of this, you will need a ton of time to resolve problem with seller. On top of that, how reliable of the replacement will be??? Don't get me wrong. VIOFO is great but not renew or refurbished! This is a pretty well-known camera for those who have experience with dashcams. Install was easy enough, though it took me all day because I'm extremely particular about my vehicle wiring. Speaking of install, just get the Viofo-brand hardwire kit. It works perfectly with this camera. The app definitely leaves something to be desired, but it's sufficient for its purpose. Don't forget to get a good quality Samsung Endurance SD card, too, and it's cheaper to get a legit card straight from Samsung than risking a fake from Amazon. Also - "Privacy mode" will only keep two videos at a time. Nothing more. It's not documented well, either, I had to sit down and go through the manual and various forums to figure everything out. Set some time aside and do that before installing it, you'll save yourself a headache or 5. And finally, like any other *good* dashcam, this does not have a battery - instead, it uses a "supercapacitor", which fares far better in extreme temperature swings. After losing power, it stays on just long enough to save a video. Which is perfectly fine. Batteries, on the other hand, really don't like heat. Or cold. And they pop on occasion. Read more

I've had this guy installed for the past few years, and it's been great! I like the fact that it records my speed and auto-saves if I get hit. Luckily, I have not needed it,t but it's always made me feel better to have it. Read more
I purchased this because of the app, but after five hours of trying to link the app to the camera I gave up. Continue to get an error code from dash cam. Read more
One of the best dash cams I have ever owned. This is the one you want to buy without having to spend alot of money. Video's are sharp, even in low light conditions. Highly recommend, would buy again. Read more
