I bought this to replace an old Banana Republic bag that I have had for about 8 years, the sash was frayed and have been wanting to update it for awhile but all the ones I have found in this price range have been horrible quality. For instance the new one I got from BR earlier this year was junk, the leather was very thin, just felt cheap, nothing like the product I got 8 years ago. Since this had free returns and was a lighting deal I decided to give it a try and I am very happy with the purchase and price. This was too small for my 17" laptop but I rarely carry that around and will keep my old one as a laptop bag. Plenty of room for my 12" tablet, leather bound notebook, wallet, keys and other things I carry in it when I go to work. Love the color of the leather and it looks very well made. The sash is long enough and easy to adjust. A very sharp looking bag, I have gotten many complements since I received it a little over a week ago. The packaging was also good, you know its good quality if they take care to protect all the pieces of the bag, like protecting every zipper and metal piece so they don't get scratched. Also comes with a storage linen bag to keep your new bag protected, also a good sign its well made, my old BR bag came with one, the new BR bag that I returned did not. Maybe just a coincidence, who knows, but hopefully this one serves me as long as the BR bag I have and still using these many years later. Read more
I bought this as a gift for my father who has a 13.3 inch slim laptop and it's PERFECT. He has a neoprene case on the laptop and it fits perfectly into the Visconti 13 inch Laptop Case. There's enough from for the charger and papers as well. It's sharp looking too. Nice black leather and not too big, which was key, he didn't want a bag he'd have to lug around. This is more like a larger man-purse or a small messenger bag. Really happy that it works so perfectly for 13.3 inch laptops. I really love it. No joke, I am totally pumped. The key is that it is really nice high quality leather. The size is perfect! Right now I have a mag, my touchpad and accessories and my book in there! (and some pens) and it isnt huge or bulky either! It is just right I think. I also like the style! It is really nice and the only logo on the outside is the little pin down by the side. The craftsmanship of the bag is its own presentation and then instead of having a huge logo imprinted or something it just has a subtle pin. I gave this to my husband for his birthday knowing that he needed something as his "fit under the seat" carryon for papers, phone, etc. My guy gives everything a thorough inspection and it passed with flying colors. It is very well constructed and beautifully finished. The shoulder strap adjusts easily and the bag is large enough to look good on a man who is 6'2". I highly recommend this bag. Read more
This bag came in elaborate packaging - a series of plastic and paper bags to maintain freshness. I found the fresh scent refreshing, and it added to the experience of opening the product. When I finally got through all of the packaging, I was surprised at how dark the bag was. I expected to get an actual tan bag, not a chocolate brown one. MUCH darker than the icon. I found it very hard to realize that I did not get what I wanted. The leather was beautiful, and the brand name is obviously one of great quality. High quality shoulder bag that is versatile. As I will be going on a vacation this fall across the country, I wanted something to carry my usual things I carry in my current shoulder bag, as well as something that would carry reading materials and some makeup. The leather is very soft and it has different pockets that will organize the contents nicely. The shoulder strap is adjustable and it is very comfortable on my shoulder and across my body. Really not the quality I had hoped for given the price. The leather would probably soften and seem like better quality but the initial impression was not good. The leather is stiff and feels cheap. The worst thing about the product though are the zippers. Day two of use and the zipper continually skipped and never really worked after that. I could get it to close partially but I didn't dare put anything of value in the outer pocket for fear of losing it. After two weeks of trying to "grow into" the bag I finally gave in and purchased the first bag I want, a Fossil. The Fossil bag is much better made and has everything I need for work and travel. The good thing about the Visconti is that it looks nice. If you prefer form over function you may be happy with this bag, I wasn't. Read more
