Vitamix 1002 Vita-Prep 64 Oz Blender Black

Got rid of our old Kitchenaid blender and started a deep dive of research into blenders. Read all the horror stories about blenders that broke after 1 use, and read about every model from every manufacturer. Believe me (PhD in adult education and retired research scientist) Vitamix is IT. All others fall far short. The one I purchased had 5 stars, rave reviews FROM RESTAURANTS AND BARS, and is a commercial blender. A workhorse that is worth every penny! I love the controls, the way the design of the jar forces the contents back down to the razor sharp blades and does not cavitate. Either bite the bullet and pay the $413 or pay for failed blender after failed blender until you have spent that amount, and THEN have to pay for this Vitamix anyway, or do without a blender. I use my Vitamix every day! I use it in the morning to make my protein shake & for other blending & chopping for other meals. I use it for mixing & blending small batters, heavy whipping cream, & warming soups & sauces. It is a great all round kitchen appliance. Read more

I've always wanted a vitamix so I got one which was for home use. As a culinary school intern I had used the professional version and the home one just didn't match it. Finally I sold that one off on craigslist and bought this one. So happy with the decision! Read more

Was looking for a way to "juice" greens into a drink without losing all the awesome fiber. So i wanted something i could put the whole fruit or veggie into and still get a juice-like consistency. Tried a couple others who claim to be speedy as bullets or ninjas but it was like drinking a choppy salad....sip and chew. Never could handle greens like Kale or spinach or frozen berries and their seeds. Got the Vita-mix blender and problem virtually solved. No seeds, no chunks of Kale. For the most part pretty darned smooth. Maybe small tiny pieces but nothing i have to chew. I like the variable blending options, it gives me a lot of control. Blending is super fast. The unit is really tall and a bit noisy in the higher speeds but overall I am highly satisfied with this product. Handles ice well. And easy easy easy to clean. My juicer took forever to clean. This vita-prep makes my health journey so incredibly easy. I feel dumb for not getting it sooner. Well worth the money though you can find it cheaper on other sites. Read more
