I'm in treatment for carpal tunnel syndrome and was struggling to sleep in my brace. I have chronic insomnia, I'm a stomach sleeper, and I'm really easily kept awake by even the most minor of discomforts, so it's been a little difficult to find something that works overnight and doesn't start annoying me before I'm all the way asleep. I couldn't stand trying to wear a rigid splint to bed. This brace is nice and soft. It didn't chafe. I love the squishy pillow on the inside that keeps your empty hand from feeling like it's just sort of rattling around in the brace, and I really appreciate the stretchy piece of fabric that keeps everything comfortably snug. I have a small hand and kinda chubby arms so a lot of the time my problem is that the brace slowly works its way out of place, and that's not a big problem here. I was worried about the fact that basically the entire outside is made of velcro, but it wasn't a problem AND it allows for maximum adjust-ability based on the shape of your forearm. I love that you can just pop the splint out. It's still effective to keep my wrist from bending at night but not so rigid that it pokes and wakes me up when I roll over. You certainly won't be DOING much of anything in this brace, especially if you have small hands, because it's pretty immobilizing and it swallows the whole end of your arm, but that's kind of the point. This is a serious wrist braces. It is super comfortable and really secure but it is very bulky and restricting. Definitely a more robust brace for more serious issues but it’s a little more than what I need so it’s not the most comfortable to sleep in since it is so large. I like the cushiony part on the palm of your hand especially and might use it when I am having really bad flare ups of wrist pain, but it’s a bit much for what I usually want Read more
Thank God for whomever invented these! They are SO helpful with carpal tunnel or other neuropathy. When burning/ tingling or searing pain, electric shock /lightning bolts or whatever else besets your wrists/hands, these things are the miracle you are looking for. They let you sleep without pain. I never open the VELCRO, I just adjust them as loose as they can get, slip hand in through the end. I sometimes use upside down/backwards (put hand in wrong end so thumb hole is way up on wrist, and keep hand down inside brace, instead of thumb sticking out end the way it was designed) and pain subsides almost immediately so you can sleep! Experiment to find your BEST position in this. There is no hard metal strip inside so it's pure comfort. Buying spare set, just in case. I also use them right side up (correct way) at times when wrist pain is not off the charts. They are for sleep, not wearing out and about, as they are quite bulky. But I've worn them in the daytime when nothing else helped. I wouldn't try to do anything requiring manual dexterity. They are warm and will relieve arthritis pain in hands too. As to value for money, you can't put a price on the relief these braces provide. YOU ARE PURCHASING ONE BRACE, which fits both left and right hand -- you don't have to buy two unless you have bilateral wrist probs. Machine wash in lingerie bag and dry in dryer or hang to dry. The brace works well for relieving wrist pain while sleeping but it’s large and takes up a lot of space. It’s hard for me to find a position to lay my arm that doesn’t ultimately lead to my elbow hurting due to the brace making my arm lay in an awkward position. Read more
After many frustrating months using geri gloves for bruising with no good results I ordered one for each hand/arm for my mom. I removed the stays & the nurse & I held our breath during the 2 weeks trial we decided on. Success!! The extra padded protection provided by these has cut her bruising episodes down & she seems to like them for the warmth. Not the intended use they were developed for, but mom wears them during the day when she is active in her wheelchair. Orderd a second set for spares when laundering.
