If you’re sensitive to adhesives this is a good way to secure a bandage without the adhesive coming in contact with your skin. It works well and is easy to use. And you get a lot in this package. The main way this has been useful is for a foot injury my wife had. She didn't want a heavy bandage, just some lighter support she could give her foot under her sock. We wrapped her foot with this athletic tape and she was surprised by how comfortable and helpful it was. Yes, you can use it as a pre-wrap, or to secure an ice pack in place or secure hair...there's a number of potential uses here. The main things to know are it's very soft, very light, not sticky and holds in place well. You get a lot of it here. 120 Yards may or may not sound like a lot, but it's four large rolls. I've included two photos of a roll we opened after we wrapped my wife's foot. I tried to include some unwrapped tape to show how thin and transparent it is. It's disposable, so you won't be reusing it, but if you have a wound that you want to cover with something gentle before wrapping it with athletic tape or bandage, or you're looking for something thin and light, it is great for those uses. Quality pre-wrap tape, that isn't actually tape, with no adhesive backing, it only sticks to itself, which makes it great. Not only for people but pets. One dog gets frequent hot spots and worries at them, and this is great to wrap them up. Also used for stabalizing a sprained ankle. This pre-wrap athletic tape is very thin and easy to rip. The material is also not very soft, so I’d imagine it might chafe as a pre-wrap for those who participate in very active sports and move around a lot. I got the pre-wrap hoping to bind/keep in place a very awkwardly placed patch at the back of my neck/shoulder that doesn’t stick well at all, but the “tape” is too flexible and not durable enough to use it for this purpose. It it, however, quite wide at a little over 2 1/2 inches, but its tearability works against it since it rips under the slightest bit of stretch. I also attempted to bind my hair with it to keep it in place during workouts and it immediately ripped just trying to wrap it. So while it is thin and breathable, I’m hard-pressed to find specific uses for it since it tears too easily. Read more

I used this pre-wrap as a bit of a barrier between gauze and standard wrap when I got a really bad second degree sunburn over my shoulders to help mitigate the skin irritation from those wraps, and it did a pretty good job of it. The material is thin and soft, so it's comfortable up against the skin, even with the sunburn, and it kept the other layers of triage from really rubbing against and irritating the skin. The fact that it isn't adhesive at all meant that when I needed to take the triage off and replace it, this stuff kept it from pulling all the skin up. I don't know that this is necessarily the intended type of use for it, but it did a good job regardless. Between the amount you get and the relatively low price, I think if you're in need of something to provide a comfortable skin barrier, this is a good call and a good value. Read more

Man, what I story to tell. I did not used to be allergic to poison ivy. But, as you get older, your body changes, and well......let's just say I found ALL the poison ivy. By the time I decided it was doctor time, I had strips of flesh missing all the way around both forearms, the backs of my hands, and on up my upper arms. It was bad. And any bit of air that touched it, anything that made the hair on my arms move, made it even worse. What I found worked best was to apply that day's choice of ointments, then gauze, then this pre-wrap, then an ace bandage. The pre-wrap kept the gauze in place, and put a bit more of a buffer on my arms. Lightweight, so it didn't really add anything it terms of weight. Not that weight mattered, I was miserable from the itching. But you know what I mean. The ace kept firm pressure on everything so it did not shift against the skin. (A plain gauze wrap would move too easily, athletic tape had the potential to be wrapped too tightly too easily and was not reuseable.) I like how the tape is breathable and non-adhesive so it feels comfortable on the skin and doesn’t cause irritation.
