The media could not be loaded. This is a raw video; actual first use of product. I will say these lids make reusing Nespresso Pods SIMPLE. I'm simple minded- please make things easy to use and clean. Bam! Scroll through to the end of the video to see me remove the used pod with silicon Vivi Sky lid. I'm impressed with the functionality and seamlessness of the silicon lid. We are also delighted to have happy teens while saving a lot of money! Sorry Nespresso- tough times affording teens!! We are in our Reuse Era. If the product begins to fail I will update this review. Addendum Day 2: Clean and seamless experience. Curious about the process with less grounds. I used half the amount of grounds as yesterday and tampered it down and covered. Cafe was perfect and the silicon lid didn't not explode in the trash reservoir. Picture of used capsule with lid attached. Read more

I ordered two different types of Vertuo pod covers to see which I liked best. One was these silicone covers and the other was the Geesta foil covers sold here on Amazon. These were the best hands down. I have had no leaks, no problems with spilled grounds, or water not going through the pod. That said, the kit needs a few tweaks. First, there are an odd number of covers, only three. If you are a couple, buy two sets. Second, the tiny scoop is worthless. The kit that Geesta sells comes with a larger measuring spoon that works great for filling coffee sized pods AND it is nearly the pod diameter, so it makes leveling the coffee easy. If you only want to refill pods that are smaller portion, you will need to experiment to find the right amount of coffee to use. A couple of tips that have worked for me: 1. Do not overfill the pods. Use a measuring spoon and ensure you have about 5mm gap from the top of the coffee to the pod top. This ensures that you can get the lid on and that water can flow through the pod itself. 2. Do not overpack the coffee! The Vertuo is not an espresso machine. Fill the coffee and then just LIGHTLY tap the spoon to level the surface. If you pack it, water will not be able to flow through the coffee grounds to make coffee. You also risk getting the needle that inserts onto the pod clogged. 3. Use genuine Vertuo pods. You need the code on the bottom for the machine to read so it makes the right size of coffee. Make sure the pod shells are dry before refilling or using the refilled pods in your machine. The same goes for the lid in the kit. Water will spoil the coffee inside and can cause issues with the machine. Just lightly dry the cleaned shell and lid or dry overnight before using. 4. Use the right grind of coffee!! I have used both medium fine and more medium and got the best results with medium fine (stronger coffee). Powder will clog the holes. Do not pulverize your beans too much. 5. Use the filled pods within a day or two. There are holes in the lid that will degrade the coffee if kept too long. This set is best for those who fill pods just before brewing or the night before. I can easily fill several pod shells within a minute so it does not take long. Given the holes on top, keep the pods upright until used so coffee grounds do not leak out. I much prefer this system over the foil covers. I found those a pain to use as they do not always adhere well and they take too long to put on compared to the silicone tops, plus you keep having to buy more foils. I have also had issues with leaks of grounds with them due to the foil not sticking completely. If you have the extra money, get the Geesta system for their brush and measuring spoon, but use the silicone covers from those kit instead of the foil. The Geesta brush is much easier to use given its length and has nicer bristles. Better yet, Vivi Sun could offer something similar in their kit. This system is also sustainable for those into no waste. Once you use a couple of Vertuo pods, keep them and remove the foil (make sure the pod edges inside are smooth so that the silicone lids can seat properly. Compost or throw away the used Vertuo coffee and keep the pod shells. Once you refill the pods, all you have to dispose of is the spent coffee daily. Read more

Purchased these to use with the empty aluminum pods. Well built and fit perfectly. Easy to clean and saves me money by filling them with my freshly ground coffee bean. Would absolutely recommend these. Read more

Our machine had a little trouble recognizing what was in the pod holder but it finally worked after another attempt. Read more

A friend of mine recently bought me some specialty whole bean coffee. So I figured I’d give these reusable lids a go. I’ve been testing out the product for several days and it just doesn’t meet any standards towards making a truly good Nespresso cup of coffee or espresso. The Good: It works at allowing you to brew non-Nespresso coffee*. The lids fit in the pods and seal nicely. Easy to use. The Bad: I’ve tried using four different coffee pods in both size and strength (Sweet Vanilla, Melazio, Stormio, and Il Caffe). I also tried different grind types. First, the crema (the nice rich thick foam) produced is not thick or rich and goes away just a minute after brewing. Second, the amount of coffee produced is substantially less than when using an original Nespresso pod (note: this is odd because the pods themselves are the same. You’re reusing your original Nespresso pods. So it’s undetermined if it’s due to the tiny holes in the lids or something else). Third, the holes in the lid are pin pricks while the Nespresso punches fewer holes that are almost 10 times larger in its original pods. This has caused pools of water remaining in my machine. Fourth, lid depth doesn’t allow for the same amount of ground coffee. This displacement means you’re getting a slightly less coffee to water ratio. The Ugly: My Nespresso errored out several times over my testing. While I was fortunate the errors could easily be cleared by removing the pod and unplugging the machine, they would randomly happen and at different points during the brew. Several times the brew would stop and then start again. A few times the machine would rattle. The images provided are of my last Stormio brew testing. The cup on the left is the original Nespresso pod. The cup on the right is the same Nespresso Stormio pod brewing my own dark roast. This pic was taken only moments after brewing the second cup. The last picture is comparing the hole sizes as well as showing the depth of space the lid takes up in the pod (note: the depth displacement is to avoid the machine puncturing the lid). Overall Nespresso created an entire coffee ecosystem of producing a “perfect” cup with their machine and pods. This product just doesn’t do that. While the product works, you’re not getting the exceptional Nespresso coffee you’re used to. Also the risk of errors to your machine are too great to recommend purchasing the product. Read more

I’ve used for over a year every day. I love that they at silica food grade and bpa free. The ease and durability of this cover is unmatched. I tried the aluminum covers, don’t waste your time or money on those. My expresso tasted like aluminum bean grinds. I love the foam these create. I just ordered another 3 for the family. Thank you for making such a great recyclable product! Read more
