ViVin Wide Ruled Legal Note Pads: I use these legal pads for keeping track of so many things that having a pack of 12 pads is perfect for me. The last legal pads I bought at my retailer had a ridiculous number of pages and made my binder way too thick for putting in my carryon case easily. I’ve already decided that smaller sized legal pads are what I will be purchasing from here on out because they’re lightweight and so much less bulky to use. Blame these old eyes, but I write large and heavy with a gel pen whose ink stands out, and these pages are standing up to this. On the reverse side of the page there is no bleed through of the gel ink (but a bit of show-through however), and if you run your finger over the surface, you can feel the Braille-like raised ridges of my writing. The page underneath the one I’m using, however, has very little feel or look from me pressing so hard. I generally don’t use both sides of the paper when I’m working. I’ve used both college rule paper and wide rule depending on what’s available, but I find I prefer this wide rule style. The page perforations are nice and crisp, and the pages tear off very easily. I’m a little conflicted about the coated white cover, however. It’s nice to have the option to leave it on as a cover and flip it over when using the pad. For myself, I’ve been using the cover’s perforation to fully remove the front cover to use the legal pad. Again, clean perf on the cover and easily removed. Why I say I’m conflicted is that the coated cover is partially down the backside of the pad too, and the 4 inch useless flap annoyingly catches on things. I’ve solved it myself by cutting all the back flaps off, but I have to wonder why a rear flap was added, as it catches on the side of a briefcase going in and out. I appreciate the very sturdy backing of this legal pad, about a sixteenth of inch thick (photo), because the pad is thick enough to hold in your hand to write on without bending. I’ve had flimsy cardboard backs before that necessitated a binder of some sort, but this legal pad can easily be used alone. They’re a bit pricier per page (almost double at the time of my order) than the brand I usually buy, and so I likely will only prioritize these if my regular retailer is out of stock, or if I just want to skip a trip to the busy store. I’m a person that enjoys writing letters to people. Yes, it’s mostly gone to wayside, but for me it is more personal and gives the recipient the feeling of someone cares. The paper is of good quality, having 6 pads on hand was a good choice considering how many you receive in packages, very cost effective. I did use a marker on a couple of letters it went bled through very little. When time comes I’ll buy again Read more

This is for ViVin Legal Pads, reviewed March 2026. Pros: - white - standard sheet size - back flap allows use in a padfolio, while still having the cardboard backing protect from the padfolio textures, ao you can use every sheet - perforated - they are decently resistant to bleeding through, though failed with a sharpie. Within a few minutes some dots went through to the next page. However, most likely you are using pens, pencils, and/or standard markers or highlighters, and it did fine with all of those. I show a bit of my testing in the photos, not all of it because the Sharpie was the only issue. Paint markers were not tested, as that would be more of an art application and these are not for that Cons: - expensive Summary: I am using these for business purposes, and the slightly higher cost isn’t enough to deter me. YMMV. I like these and am glad that I made the selection. I hope that this helps with your decision. Do let me know, and happy shopping! Read more

These legal pads work well for everyday writing, note-taking, and organizing tasks. The wide ruled format gives plenty of space between lines, which makes it comfortable for longer notes or quick meeting summaries. At 8.5 x 11.75 inches, the pages are the standard legal-pad size, so you get a full page of writing space without feeling cramped. The paper is smooth enough for most pens, and the sturdy backing helps keep the pad stable when writing without a desk. Legal pads like this typically use top binding with perforated sheets so pages can be removed cleanly when needed. What I appreciate most is the perforated edge, which tears neatly without leaving rough paper behind. That makes it easy to hand off notes or file a page without the messy edges you sometimes get with cheaper pads. The wide rule layout also works well for quick lists, brainstorming, or keeping organized notes during calls or meetings. If you prefer more compact writing you might want college ruled, but for clear, readable notes these wide ruled legal pads are a dependable choice. Read more
