The ViVin Legal Pads are basic 5x8 legal pads. They are narrow ruled. Each pad comes with a top paper that you can tear off that is unlined, or you can leave it. I use these pads a lot for varied lists. The paper on these is thin, but it did not leak through when using a standard gel pen. The glide was smooth, everything was easy to read, and all the pages are printed correctly with the requisite lines. They are accurate to size listed. I have zero problems with the quality or quantity. It's a fair price for the amount and the pads do what they should do. I really like these 30 sheets/pad wide ruled note pads. Normally, note pads are about 50 sheets/pad, but these are 30 sheets/pad. That means that the note pads are thinner and lighter. For some reason, I feel that I waste less paper with these note pads. The perforation of each sheet is nice when you want to tear away the sheet and keep it. I also like the white cover that comes with each note pad. I think the white cover is meant to be torn away prior to using the note pad. However, I have found that it's perfect to cover up what you are writing on your note pad and gives you an extra sense of privacy. The price point for this item is average. These pads have the familiar canary yellow color and the red left margin that people associate with legal pads. The ruling is wide, rather than the narrow spacing I'm looking for in from a legal pad, but pens and pencils write cleanly without ink spreading, and the pages tear away neatly along the perforation. Each pad measures about 8.5 × 11.75 inches and has a chipboard back with a glossy white cover, which is useful because it protects the first page when you shove the pad into a backpack or briefcase. One kind of weird thing is that the paper has a rough, porous texture that reminds me of the construction-paper from elementary school (although this is thinner, obviously). It feels gritty. I like the way pencil feels on it. Another weird thing is that each pad contains only 30 sheets- fewer than most notepads, though the six-pack makes it convenient to keep one around for grocery lists, quick notes, or general scratch paper.
