Excellent Marker/Accent Lighting - Efficient Solar Cells - Great Appearance - Removable For Storage!
We ordered a set of these a couple years ago and since they've help up well, we decided to order another set and add these to our posts out front. We love that they twist off the base and the batteries are removable, perfect for our brutal winters where they need to go into storage. - Mostly decorative lighting - Some light cast down - Great appearance - Nice color tempurature - Fits standard deck posts and has a removable sleeve for a true 4x4 post. - Solar charge seems efficient and casts light for most of the night after a sunny day These are an excellent find. This same brand Volisun has these stair tread lights: https://amzn.to/3OgXasy which we really hope to try soon for a little more functional light on the stairs. Again, these lights are mostly visual markers, they don't cast a lot of light down. Supplementing that with these solar stair tread lights seems like the ticket. Not standard US 4 X 4 post size (3 1/2 X 3 1/2)
My first one works, I think. I checked and I have standard 4x4 posts, which are always 3 1/2 X 3 1/2, and the fit is way too loose. On top of that the only mounting screws are on opposite sides, and compared to models where the mounting screw are hidden, these are ugly and they only sent flat head screws which are inappropriate. Pan head screws, at least. The mounting screws are being set about 1/4" - 3/16" from the top of the post. Not smart or secure. No switches at all on mine. Less to break later, I guess. Light quality is marginal. I have definitely owned better made and more attractive solar post lights, but they were a little more expensive and most of them failed before long, anyway. These are cheap and they show it. But at least they're all working for now. Read more
