These came well packaged with each component protected, and setup was very straightforward. Everything is modular, so it was just a matter of assembling the pieces and placing them where we wanted. All six were installed in just a few minutes. The first test was on an overcast winter afternoon, so they did not have much time to charge. Even with that limited sunlight, they still produced about the same level of light that I saw on later nights after a full day of charging. The filament design is different from typical solar path lights. It is more like a thin, dangling thread with a small magnet at the bottom that keeps it centered, rather than a fixed bulb or strip. It is a unique look and still provides enough light to clearly define a path. I’ve used a lot of solar path lights over the years and very few actually make it through the entire night, but that is not something I worry about. If I needed lighting that was still bright at 5 or 6am, I would go with a wired setup instead. I have not specifically tested full overnight runtime yet, so I cannot say exactly how long they will stay lit after a full day of charging. i ordered these solar pathway lights to help light up the front of my house and some people have had issues with tripping due to it being too dark in the front. these pathway solar lights do just the thing to remedy this. these pathway solar lights come in pieces and needs a little assembly. it only takes a minute or less per light to put together and have it ready to install. please not that the body of this entire pathway light is plastic and if you exert too much force, you can break it easily. for this reason alone, i didn't try to force the plastic stake into the dirt. instead i took a spade shovel and predug the hole, installed the light then backfilled and packed down the dirt. once the light is installed you can take off the solar panel portion which takes off the light with it. nwo you can go ahead and press the button to power this light on snd put it back on the housing. like i said earlier, these lights are plastic and seems like it would break farily easily. the solar panel on to of the light seems to be adequate to fully charge the built in battery, the light itself seem to be bright enough to help light the way. what i would change is make the housing a littler more sturdy with thciker plastic. These solar pathway lights have a really elegant look once they’re set up. The design is clean and a bit more refined than the typical solar lights, and the warm glow adds a nice, inviting feel along a walkway or garden bed. One thing to know is that you do have to take the top off to switch them on before first use. It’s not difficult, just an extra step that isn’t immediately obvious. These solar pathway lights look really good in my front yard. They go together easily and intuitively, and I really like the straight-line style of the light, which is loose inside, but is held taut via a magnet system. The top is the solar portion. Even the one that is in partial shade for part of the day lasts until dawn. The only thing that took me some time is getting them perfectly straight, as it is obvious that they are tilted out of alignement if they are even a little bit off. My recommendation is to poke them into the soil only to the level of the top portion of the point (which is a separate part that you fit into the tube that holds them upright), and compare them to each other before pushing them all the way in the soil...as it is difficult to pull them out once they are fully seated--the point of one got stuck down in the soil. My soil is admittedly quite hard. Each of the lights has two pole piece, so you can choose a lower or higher option, depending on your preference. These are the best solar path lights I have found. These aren’t the type of lights that are going to light up your whole yard like a floodlight. They’re more about creating a vibe than blasting everything with light. What I like is how they spread the light along a path or around a garden. It’s soft, warm, and actually looks good at night instead of feeling harsh or overdone. Works especially well lining a walkway or around a seating area. Install is easy. Push them in, space them out how you want, and you’re basically done. No wiring, no headaches. Compared to some brighter solar lights I’ve used, these feel more intentional. Those tend to be brighter but kind of ugly about it. These are the opposite. Less intense, but way better looking. One thing to keep in mind, placement matters. If you spread them too far apart, you’ll notice the gaps. Keep them spaced right and it comes together nicely.
