I recently went back to a short hair style after dealing with longer hair during this miserable heat wave we've been having the last 7 weeks. I have a difficult time finding the right products for my hair, and most things just weigh it down and make it look flat. This powder works very well with my finer hair. It doesn't weigh it down, and gives incredible volume at the precise place I want it. You only need a minute amount and vavoom! I really like that now all I have to do after I wash my hair is air dry it, comb it where I want, put just a little of this in the palm of my hand and use 2 fingers of my other hand to dip it in the powder and swish it back and forth in the root area. The best part is, if it falls flat during the day (which in 99 degree weather with 95% humidity it will) I just run my fingers around the roots where I placed it and it instantly volumizes again! I've used root powders in the past, but they are incredibly overpriced for a container half the size of this. The comb that comes with this is nothing that I would have ever purchased, but now after using it, I really like it, and would purchase something like it as well. I’ve used just about every volumizing powder out there and since I find them insanely expensive for what you’re getting, I’m always looking for an inexpensive one. This product is inexpensive but it’s also not great. It’s slightly gritty and not silky/ finely milled, and it tends to fall out of my hair over the course of wear, leaving a dusting of powder on my shoulders and back. This is not over application, I believe it’s because the texture of the product isn’t as smooth and fine as other brands I have tried. My hair is fine and of medium length and density. If I wasn’t blonde I suspect this product would be visible in my hair also. This may work fine for you, but I personally wouldn’t repurchase. Read more

I tried it on my clients today and the little bit of white powder that fell through to their scalp, STUCK TO THEIR SCALP. 😫 I tried brushing it off with a bristle brush but it had to be washed off. It didn’t texurize much either, it just gave it that weird tacky texture. Also is bad for dark hair, made it powdery looking. Do not recommend if you want the same results as a company like big sexy hair. Read more
