Costs a little more than the plastic but these are better. Was a little miffed about spending for this, but the item is excellent quality. The edge isn't that bad, reminds me of something Restaurants put onto tables. This saved my carpet as the wheels were digging into the carpet as I moved around sitting on the chair. Which frayed the fibers. That being said, I believe these will be cost efficient once you realize the plastics will die over time and then put microplastics in your area. Love this glass mat! I should have taken a photo of the previous vinyl mat being held together with duct tape. I had been looking for a replacement for two years and really didn't want to replace it with another gorilla heavy duty vinyl mat. I bought mine in October 2025. On 4/2/2026, it shattered into a million pieces when my coffee cup fell on it. I really liked this mat as it seemed very durable. Given its performance, I consider this a severe safety hazard and definitely not worth purchasing. i am not only out my money , I now have a nightmare of glass shards to cleanup. It makes moving my desk chair much easier. You must be sure to hold on to the chair as you sit if it has wheels or it will slide right out from under you. Read more

I'm a massive man. This thing hold up to my weight no problem. I did put a rug over it though, because it's in my bedroom. I never liked the feeling of walking on the glass in my bare feet. So, I'd say great for an office, but if it's in a bedroom you might want to put a rug over it with some carpet tape. Chair rolls great with rug and now I don't worry about it. Read more

Was furnishing a new home office and decided to go w/a tempered glass mat to see what all the hype was about, and it didn't disappoint. In fact, it was so smooth rolling, had to swap out the inline skate wheels I had installed on my office chair back to the cheap ones because there's a slight slope on my floor and kept drifting away from my desk lol!
