This shaver lasted almost exactly 3 months and then the on/off switch was not working correctly. It would go from very slow to very fast and somewhere in between, then it wouldn't shut off, and it wouldn't turn on, then to turn it on you had to hold the button in while you were shaving which was very difficult to do. In looking at other reviews this seems to be a very common problem. When I called about product support I was told I had to mail the shaver to them at my cost, wait for them to fix it and then they would mail it back at their cost. This didn't make any sense since I needed a shaver in between and would have to buy one to replace the one I had. As far as I'm concerned their return / repair policy is a joke because you still have to buy a razor in between. I have been a big fan and user of the Wahl Bump free electric shaver for years! Recently by accident I dropped my shaver on my bathroom's ceramic tile floor and it shorted out and ran the battery down! I then decided to order a new replacement Wahl Bump Free shaver on line and when I received it I found that it had a defective on-off switch. I sent it back for a refund and then tried to order another one online. Apparently every online merchant I visited seemed to have none available! I then tried the local drug stores and specialty stores in my area, i.e. Bed Bath & Beyond, Target, etc. and had the same results. Since I still had my old Wahl Bump free electric shaver, I decided to take it apart to see what the problem was. I found that a tiny circuit board was knocked loose which I assumed caused the short circuit. I reinstalled the circuit board and a small coil spring that had come loose, re-assembled the shaver and then recharged the it. I will say that it does hold a charge fairly well. I will also say it has got to be one of the most painful trimmers and razors I have ever used. And I am 60. Started using electric razors 25 to 30 years ago. If you shave everyday with this and never use the trimmer you are just fine. However if you're like me with a hectic schedule and no Board Room meetings waiting two to three days will net you trouble. The razor grabs hair constantly necessitating pre-trimming. You can only pull the trimmer One Direction as the other direction pushes it back into the unit causing it not to cut. The trimmer cuts and Nick's constantly as well as grabbing hair painfully. Don't even think about using this trimmer anywhere else on your body but your face and only with the skin pulled tight. You will just end up cut and bleeding. I generally have to pre-cut my hair with a pair of scissors as short as possible before I can use the trimmer and then the shaver. Along with the trimmer falling back into the unit constantly requiring you to have to hold it with your thumb the on-off switch begins to be Troublesome and requires holding it with your finger at the same time. I have disassembled and cleaned accumulated hair from the switch the causes this several times. The price isn't bad but as soon as I can bring myself to spending the absorbent amount of money required, I will go with Remington or Norelco next time. Read more

I got this shaver as my first jump into the electric shaver world per a recommendation from my family barber. I have learned with razors, you have to your research and decide what works best for you best on your needs and wants. Now about this particular razor: PROS: This razor is easy to use and has pretty good battery life at over an hour of shave time. The extra trimmer is nice for cutting down long hair or trimming up a beard. CONS: The foils on this unit are hard to clean, because you have to take them off during shaving. Also my first set of foils didn't last long. I got a hole in the foil after about a month of use. This unit is LOUD compared to other units I have used. This makes early morning shaving almost impossible without waking up others. I was hoping that an electric shaver would save me some time, this unit seemed to take just as long as using my blades. Happy with this affordable shaver. It shaves closer than most electric shavers I've owned in the past including Braun. But ... the listed dimensions of the product are wrong. The specs here on Amazon cite 9.5" x 6" x 3", but the shaver itself is far more compact, 6" x 2.5" x 1". I have no idea what the larger numbers correspond to, perhaps the shipping box or the shaver inside the travel case? But for me the actual dimensions count because I take a lot of short trips and the shaver is very portable. Read more
