This Wahl beard trimmer works extremely well and feels solid in the hand. The blades are sharp and precise, and I really like that they’re self-sharpening, which keeps the trimming smooth over time. The battery life is impressive — lasting weeks between charges — and the fact that it can be used corded or cordless makes it very convenient. The different guide attachments are easy to switch and allow for clean, even trims whether you want stubble, medium length, or a fuller beard. It’s simple to use, not too heavy, and delivers consistent results. Overall, it’s a reliable and well-built trimmer that offers great value. Highly recommended for anyone looking to maintain their beard with ease. Read more
Easy to use. I use this to clean the back of my neck since I have very short hair. Some of these trimmers would hurt. This one does not hurt and it is easy to charge and easy to clean. Read more
I wasn't sure about this product but I needed something to trim those places around my ear, neck, and side burn areas. My barber, my wife, needed another tool to clean up my hair to try to make it look presentable. This is an excellent trimmer with a rechargeable battery. It has held up for over a year and does a great job. Cons: The base they show in the image is a joke. It is very cheap plastic and I would be surprised if it holds the trimmer upright. Pros: Cuts hair very well. Keeps its charge. Blades are small for accurate cutting. The overall feel of this is unit is a bit cheap but it cuts hair and does the trimming very well. For the price it is a great buy. I would definitely buy this trimmer again and would recommend this to others for their grooming needs. 4/5 for a little bit of a cheap feel and cheap accessories but positively for great trimming ability and price. I have purchased the Wahl Groomsman several years ago. It came in a nice box that I could easy open and use to store the product in. I ordered another one just recently and it came in a hard plastic container. It took me at least 15 minutes, using a serrated knife, to pry enough opening so that I could pull the items out. Why in the world would a company package in such a manor that the consumer becomes go agitated trying to open the package. I would have sent it back but I needed the trimmer. I am not certain if UPOS would have excepted the partially torn package. This company can do better. Read more
This is a very nice trimmer at a budget price, and it completely changed my perception of what a Ni-Cd powered trimmer could be. My only other experience with a Ni-Cd powered trimmer was the gawdawful Remington PG6020, which I thought I was getting at a good price at my local Kohls. They charged $22 for it a full price, and I used one of those $10 gift cards they periodically mail to houses in my neighborhood to bring it down to around $13. Holy cow that was a waste of money. The attachments were hard to use, most of them were useless, and the trimmer was only usable for a couple of minutes after several hours of charging. I used it once, lost the charger somewhere, and decided to cut my losses and just chuck that piece of crap. That little episode impressed some thoughts into me: 1) That despite the cool premium-sounding name, Remington is willing to release a completely crap product to the masses, and 2) Kohls is as crappy a department store as I expected when they first moved into my neighborhood if they had the gall to sell that trimmer. Nowadays, I only go there to spend those $10 gift cards on socks because most other things in that store are just too expensive and not worth the asking price. Anyway, onto this Wahl. After a few months of usage, I'm quite impressed by it. First off, though the instructions say to charge overnight before use, the trimmer had enough battery power for your first trim coming right out of the box. (I would still follow the instructions and charge it first.) And indeed, that battery power is no fluke. So far, I've been able to use this Wahl trimmer on average 1.5 months before needing to charge it (I typically trim 1-3 times a week). Not too shabby. The trimmer itself is quite powerful, and, with or without the included combs, will make short work of trimming even the hardest and most stubborn hairs on your face. And though it's a bit loud, you're not living with this noise 24/7, so why should you care so much about how much noise it makes while trimming? And one of the best attributes is that you can use this trimmer when its battery has drained and is being charged, something that POS Remington couldn't do. Overall, I really can't ask more from a trimmer at this price. I can only think of a few negatives, one being the quality of the included combs. They're made of a pretty cheap and hard plastic as other reviews have stated. I try to be gentle and not rip them off the trimmer to prolong their life. The packaging that the trimmer comes in is also a pain in the butt to take off, and potentially dangerous as you're opening it. Don't rip through it to get to your new trimmer, or you might suffer a nasty cut from a sharp plastic packaging edge. Read more
