Works exactly as described. It gives fast and consistent readings and doesn’t require any setup other than turning it on and dipping it in the water. I tested my tap, filtered water, and bottled water and the numbers made sense based on what I expected. Really helpful if you’re trying to check water quality or compare filters. Small, lightweight, and surprisingly precise for the price. Definitely worth having around. Read more

Used to test water all over property. Water test a tad different from different faucets. Gives a good idea where to place water filters. Great little unit. Read more

Changing from one star to four stars because the manufacturer reached out to me to offer a refund for my inconvenience of having a faulty meter. I got a replaced one as well and it works great! I’m giving four stars because it is deceiving and should be made clear in the description that it’s not completely helpful to know TDS total. It would be better if it clarified which minerals are OK in your water and which ones are not. Obviously, that would be a much more expensive meter to have. Now I know better. ************************* Unfortunately, I received it and it does not work at all. It came with a second set of batteries so I tried those and tried to power it on and it still doesn’t work. Hoping it’s just a faulty meter. Going to try to exchange it for a new one. Read more

Tester came with extra set of batteries included! Easy to operate. Good instructions. I tested two water sources: one from pre-treatment source and a second from post (reverse osmosis) treatment and the meter registered a dramatic difference, as expected. Read more

Original 1 star changed after speaking with the company to four stars and I’ll explain why. Original review: Bought this unit and used it many times since I bought it. Does not accurately reflect what’s in the water. Whether it’s tap, refrigerator, filtered, or reverse osmosis filtered, the results are high. My RO system tells me it’s 87 ppm and the meter reads 250. Modified review: the company offered to refund my money but I wanted to keep the device so I exchanged correspondence with Maria. Bottom line is this: if you’re using filtered water, the results will be inaccurate in terms of what bad stuff is in the water. My RO filter adds back minerals after filtering the water and this meter picks up all material, good or bad. So a reading of 250 or 300 doesn’t mean the water is bad as the back of this meter suggests. Since I know what’s in the water, I can discern whether the reading is valuable. The only real value for me with this meter is to test my tapwater which shows 690 PPM and I don’t need a meter to tell me it’s nasty! At least my refrigerator filters bring the value down to 500 and change! I guess I’ll look for a meter that tells me exactly what dissolved solids are in my water and not just a number. Read more
