I ordered this for listening to podcasts and music around the house and working in the yard, without having headphones or earpods jammed in my ears all day. I like that I can clip this on and turn it on fairly low, so as not to disturb others in the house, but I can still hear what I'm listening to. The volume control / fast forward / reverse are counter-intuitive, or the opposite of how they are on most other devices: Usually when I press 'forward' slightly, it turns up the volume, and when I do a long press, it fast forwards. When I press 'back' slightly, it turns volume down, and a long press 'back' will replay the last few seconds, for example. This is the opposite: long hold will turn volume up and down, and fast press will ff or reverse. I always have to think about it, and then re-program my brain again when using a different device. Reception is good - I can usually leave my phone charging in the middle of the house and wear this anywhere else in the house and it picks up just fine, as do all of the other bluetooth devices I use. Volume is quite decent; I can use the magnet to stick this on the refrigerator, turn it up and hear it well even when I leave the room. I usually clip this to my shirt or the top of my jeans and wear it around that way when no one else is home. Battery life is great - I use it for several hours at a time, usually 6 hours or more. I haven't used it for more hours than that, and so far it hasn't died on me. I can't speak to how long the battery lasts on a full charge over 6 hours though, as I haven't used it for more than that. I love how lightweight this is: I have a few other blue-tooth speakers, but wanted a wearable for obvious reasons and this is exactly what I was hoping for. This seems to be very durable so far as well, holding up to getting dropped in they gravel and exposed to a little rain while doing yardwork. I expected this to be pretty low quality given the low price tag ($30 at time of purchase) but it's actually really great. There are a lot of reasons why you might want an actual speaker rather than earbuds. One is of course if you want other people to hear the music (or whatever) that you're listening to. That could be if you're raking leaves with the family or hiking with friends. The other is just a safety issue. If you're outside working with earbuds in you can't always here what ELSE is going on. A speaker, rather than earbuds, allows you to be more checked in. That's sometimes really important. So if you're sold on the concept, great, but also this particular product is great. It's waterproof, so if you're working out in the rain, this still works just fine. It also clips on to your clothing, so no fear of losing it, and you don't have to tote it around with you to different parts of the job site. (Plus it won't fall out and get lost in a pile of leaves like an earbud can!) The sound quality is surprisingly good. It connects really easily and seamlessly to Bluetooth AND it has easy to see/control buttons on the item itself so you can control volume without having to keep your phone handy. It also has a built in microphone and allows you to take calls, again, without having to get your phone out. This is so convenient if you're wearing work gloves in particular. This Gushtuopow Bluetooth speaker is very good, in fact is very close to be a perfect one, considering the features and functionality offered by it. I have several different BT speakers in my household and I use them pretty often, especially when going to the pool, or the beach, but most of them are either not powerful enough or the battery doesn't last too long, or they are not water resistant or splashed resistant, that is why I wanted to try this model from Gushtuopow. Now there are a lot of positive points to be discussed about this speaker and a very few negatives to be mentioned as well, but before that a quick few words about the packing and presentation. The speaker comes in its small carrying case and only wrapped in plastic, there is no actual retail box on the outside but still it is very well protected from any potential damages during transportation. Inside the box, we have the speaker, a very good user manual in English, hook and loop strap, small sticky patch for the clip and USB-A to USB-C cable. Positives: - Fairly decent sound - Gushtuopow are advertising this speaker to deliver 3W and about 20khz and I have to say that is plenty for an immediate distance of 5-6 feet around it, good enough to listen to music and not disturb the people around you at the beach. - Extremely easy to connect - The connection process to my phone was no more than a minute, extremely easy to connect via the Bluetooth, and being BT5.3 version means multiple devices can be connected to the speaker as well, so your laptop, tablet or phone can be paired and connected, with two simultaneously. - Long battery life - The company is advertising up to 12 hours lasting battery life (900Mah battery inside) and honestly the speaker lasts very long, I was able to reach that advertised 12h with constant playback of music. - IP56 rating - This is good, especially if you are planning on using it near water, like myself, splashes are no issue. Obviously don't go dunk it in the ocean or throw it in the deep end of the pool, but it is still very protected compared to my other ones that are lacking any kind of water or dust protection. - Great and convenient buttons - It is very nice to see big and well placed buttons on the speaker itself, you can increase or decrease the volume, change the LED color, turn it off and on as well. - Convenient hook and loop wrist strap if you want to carry it around or hang it on something. - USB cables included in the package. - Built in MicroSD card slot for independent stand alone music listening, making this speaker even more versatile and no need for phones or tablets to stream to it, just an old school MP3 listening. - Super strong clip on the back of the speaker, you can hook it up to your belt, clothes, backpack and pretty much anything. - Competitively priced under $25. - Protective hard case included. Negatives: - Functionally, I am a bit concerned about longer use at the beach, although water resistant, there is still plenty of sand getting in the small openings of the speaker, which over time might present a problem. - The battery could have been bigger, the built-in 900mAh can deliver 11-12 hours, but I wish it was larger.
