If you want to try out rucking, this is an excellent option. Especially if you already have barbell plates at home. Even if you don't, those are much cheaper than dedicated ruck plates. "Buy once, cry once" does not apply to something you may decide isn't for you. I'm looking at you, New Year's Resolution two weekers. I used a pair of 10lb olympic barbell plates and they fit easily. Even with a cut up old exercise mat added for a bit of extra padding, there's still room for another pair of plates. You could also use 5lb or 2.5lb plates to mix and match, giving more flexibility. Without the need to pay for weight, this cost me less than $40. This is my first pack, so no basis for comparison, but it seems well constructed and the price is great. It fits pretty well and allows good freedom of movement. Using iron or steel plates, instead of the bags of powder in other cheap options cuts down on excess bulk. Also digging the fact there is no silly branding emblazoned all over it. Read more

This has been good for carrying extra weight during walks. The construction feels solid, and it holds the weight securely without shifting around. My only real complaint is that the head opening could be a bit larger. Because of that, the weight sits slightly higher on my chest than I’d prefer. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it does affect comfort depending on your build. Overall, it feels well made and offers good value for the price. If you’re looking for a straightforward weighted option for walking, this works well as long as the fit suits you. Read more

I purchased this item mainly because I could use it with my already existing weight plates (cap brand). Can easily fit the 10 lb plates. Also, it arrived 3 days sooner than expected. Although it wasn’t perfect, I still highly recommend this vest. -Pros: vest is comfortable, highly adjustable, and has loops for days if you need to hang something. -Cons: had to use a scissor to cut some of the excess webbing which was scratching around the neck area. The biggest thing for me is the clip location. Reaching over on the side is awkward, especially when weighted. Wish the clips attached to the front. Read more

I bought this along with plates for protection while on duty and let me tell you. Not only is it very comfortable to wear but the plates stay in place with no worry in the world that they would either shift around or fall out of the vest. This is a great buy for a great price. I feel very comfortable wearing this a long with the two plates without having to worry if God forbidden that I should allow anyone get close enough to me to do any type of harm being with a knife or a gun I feel very strongly that I am very protected and that I will be going home at the end of my shift. The shoulder straps are not digging into my shoulders being that it's being weighed down by the two 6 1\2 pound plates along with my other equipment and side arm. The Velcro is super strong and has not lost it's strength. Read more

Worked perfectly for adding two 10-pound weight plates, one in front and one in back. At first, I thought it was a bit uncomfortable on the shoulders, but once I tightened up the waist straps so it was a bit of a more snug fit, it became "comfortable enough" for what it is - an extremely affordable option. For anyone who sees the other guy rating this super low and saying that you can't put weights in (or if you happen to be that guy), you absolutely can put weight plates in. There are Velcro flaps on the inside of the vest at the bottom of both the front and back. Unhook the flap, add your weight plate, then fold the flap back up and reattach it. I used the equally affordable Yes4All weight plates, and they fit just fine. Read more

The media could not be loaded. This vest fits well, molle, spots for patches, but there is NO spot for a plate. If you got this for personal protection or duty, it is NOT suitable. You would have to damage the product, cut into it to stuff a plate somewhere its not designed to. It might be able to hold a heavy plate through this method as other people are saying, though its not designed to, and if its on the exterior yhe damage to the vest to stuff the plate in will be obvious.
