I am an avid runner, but I've been going on a lot of walks with family recently, and, well, they're much slower than I am. So I thought maybe a weighted vest would help give me a better workout. It was recommended to me by a physical therapist, who said it would also be easier on my joints over time to do more weighted walks and less running. When the box is delivered, it feels extremely heavy. When you try to pick it up, you think...maybe I overestimated myself. Maybe 12 pounds is too much weight to start walking with. But once you put the vest on and spread the weight over your torso like it's supposed to, it's a perfect amount of weight. Makes the walk a little more challenging, but still completely manageable. My one complaint, if it's even that, about this vest is that it doesn't quite tighten up enough for me. I'm a small-to-moderately built female - about like the model in the product photo, actually - and I've got the straps as tight as they will go, and it's still a little bit looser on me than I want it to be. There's still too much wiggle room. But I'm not really sure, looking at it, how to remedy this, as it would take an entire re-design to accommodate a smaller person. I also find that storage is a bit of a challenge. Twelve pounds is not something I really want to leave hanging on a hook for any extended period of time, as that's likely to cause the product to stretch and sag with the weight. So it has to lie flat somewhere, and I don't have a lot of good spaces for that. Still, I very much like my weighted vest, its functionality, and the challenge it adds to my family walks. Read more

The media could not be loaded. I bought this to add some weight to my walks because I didn't like ankle weights or wrists weights. This is def better for me! It does have a slight chemical smell but I am sure it will go away after hanging it outside. The material and stitching is great!! I can't wait to use it! Read more
