My family and I are on our own fitness journeys, so when this popped up as a suggestion, I thought I had to give it a try. HOLY MOLY - WHAT A DIFFERENCE 22 lbs feels like! I have seen people using weighted vests but had never tried it myself. MAN OH MAN- took the stair climber into a completely different dimension. The vest arrived incredibly fast- next day. The box was a little beat up looking- but I think thats because of how HEAVY the product itself is (nothing was damaged inside the box). I have other body-weight products using the 'iron sand' as filler and I appreciate how there are no awkward lumps (pellets can distribute weird and get lumpy). I was immidiately surprised by how heavy 22 lbs is as 'dead' weight! However, once you get it on it is well distributed, and it feels well balanced across your torso/shoulders. The vest material is quite soft, although the seams are made of a slightly rougher material and if not adjusted correctly to your size, I could see the seams rubbing and causing irritation. I wore it with a shirt, my sons wore it around without a shirt on and there was no irritation on their skin. This item is truly unisex/one size fits all. I tried it on, then my 12 year old son, then my 15 year old son, then my 22 year old son. We range in height and weight from 5'4 & 135 lbs (smallest) to 6'2" & 300 lbs (largest). We were all able to make adjustments to the straps and wear the vest properly. The vest also comes with reflector strips built in on the front and back, as well as with a gel cooler for your neck. I would absolutely buy something like this if you are looking to really kick your workouts up a notch. I immidiately felt the difference on the stairs - and my sons are wearing it around for a few hours every day as they train for wrestling season. My first impression is 5 starts - but I reserve the right to come back and update after using it for a month or two (setting a reminder in my phone)!!! One of the buckles broke immediately as I was putting it on for the first time. I was able to thread it back on, but it wasn't a good first impression. The box also had no information, instructions, etc. for the vest or cooling tube. Once I fixed the buckle it did fit very well. I wear a size 14 and have a 40DDD bust and was able to fit comfortably with room to go bigger, so I think it would fit most women well. This is my first weighted vest and I can definitely tell a difference on my workouts. I do think a vest with adjustable weights would be a better value so you can add to it as you increase your endurance. Overall, I do recommend this vest based on the fit and comfort. Read more
