I recently purchased a new home and one of the rooms is a dedicated gym. I work out about five days a week and a lot of times it’s just way more convenient to do so in my home. I am constantly adding new pieces of equipment to it And I get excited when I see something I don’t have yet. So when I came across this weighted vest, I have wanted one for a while and this one actually sounded and looked to be superior than ones I’ve looked at. I placed an order for it and it arrive pretty quickly. And I absolutely love it. First off, it’s very comfortable and fits great around my shoulders. There are buckles in the front that you snap to make sure it stays in place. The weight can vary and the highest I believe is 19 pounds which makes a massive difference when you’re walking, running, working out, etc. It is filled with sand and it is evenly distributed so all over is really feeling it. I don’t really jog outside too much but they’re all reflective strips to make sure you are safe and seen in the dark. It definitely helps burn more calories and also my overall workout is improved. So if you ever thought about getting one of these, or if you’re looking to accelerate Your gains and losses, look no further. This vest is awesome! I have a little bit of experience with DIY weighted backpacks. But all of my experience with this sort of thing has been a school backpack filled with Ziploc bags of sand. This is the only weighted vest that I haven't made myself, and I must say that I'm really impressed with it. It's compact, easily adjustable, comfortable to wear, and the quality appears quite good for the price. This is technically a non-expandable vest when it comes to weight. We got the 16 lb version, which feels like a substantial enough burden while walking up stairs several times or doing pull-ups. Of course you'll need to pick the weight that is most appropriate for your body size; I recommend getting one that is about 10% of your weight. Note that you could probably attach a few more pounds of weight to this vest, in the back pouch or using the reflector or strap loops in the front. As far as adjustability for different body sizes, there is a pretty decent range of adjustment with the straps. IMO it's probably better suited toward average or smaller body sizes -- even children could wear it. If you are very large, this vest would look a little funny and probably be uncomfortable. Speaking of comfort, that's one area where this vest really shines. It appears that fine sand or some similar aggregate material is sewn into the vest compartments. Oddly enough, this makes the shoulder pads and other parts of the vest feel almost squishy, like a gel pack. It's very comfortable to wear, at least for relatively short durations. It's possible that the sand will gradually shift away and down from the shoulders while wearing it, but you can restore it by turning it upside-down and massaging the compartments to move the sand where you want it. Quality-wise, it seems quite good. The material feels sufficiently thick and durable, as well as a bit stretchy. The stitching (especially where the latching straps attach to the vest body) looks and feels like it will last. I can't comment on long-term durability yet, but it appears well-made to me. 5/5 stars. I see no downside to this vest beyond the fact that it's a fixed weight. And that's not really a deficiency of the vest so much as the type of vest you're buying. This will be super handy to just slip on before going for a walk, or adding a little intensity to a workout session. We really like it so far! I would hesitate to recommend it to very large individuals because it likely won't fit well, plus it would be adding an insignificant percentage compared to your body weight. This is a great weighted vest for starting out, straps are solid and weight feels evenly distributed and stays in place on walks. This fit me good as a fairly overweight body type. The only thing is there limited potential to increase weight if you outgrow this vest and would like to move on to heavier weights as long as you account for this will work for anyone looking to get started with a weighted vest. This vest has upped my workout game! For one, it is designed well and it is more comfortable than I thought it would be. The material is smooth against the skin and the filling is sewn into the material in a quilt-like pattern, creating a padded feeling all over the vest. This design also allowed the weight to be distributed evenly, and not mainly on the shoulders. The closing clips have a layer of that same, thick fabric that lies between the clip and your body, reducing, if not eliminating, the possibility of being irritated by the clip. The adjustable straps across the chest and the elastic bands around the sides allow the vest to easily accomodate various body shapes within the range of sizes. I have rather large breasts and the vest was not constricting in any way. Secondly, I like that it has reflective safety bands in the front and back for visibility during low-light usage. To be clear, this vest is constructed to provide a static weight, (meaning that the weight cannot be changed), so order accordingly. Definitely ALICIA APPROVED! Read more
