Very Strong Holding Power!
I purchased three of these in 2017; one 6.7” wide, one 10.2” wide and one 20.5 “wide. I installed them on our smooth surface fiberglass tub surround. They are amazing. The large shelf holds four quart size bottles of my wife’s hair care products. My wife leaves them on the shelf when she uses the pump dispenser on the bottles which puts more force on the shelf. After about 18 months, one of the shelves came loose. I reinstalled it with the supplied vacuum pump and it was sturdy as before. I now have it marked on my calendar to use the vacuum pump on all the shelves once a year. We have well water and a water softener. The water contains a trace of salt. After three years the shelves started to show signs of rust. I removed them and painted them with silver spray paint. I then sprayed them with Rustoleum Clear Automotive Wheel Coating. They don’t have the shiny finish, but still look good. In retrospect, I wish I had sprayed them with the wheel coating when they were new. If you have a smooth surface, these will work great.
