Awesome gear !
Simply amazing, I ditched my 6 lbs hand loomed wool blanket that I love for this treasure. When I first felt the fabric I though this its going to disintegrate using it outdoors. But it's surprisingly durable. I snagged it on some thorns and it didn't tear. I wouldn't want to try and push it though. I am using this ultralight bag, Western mountaineering everlight and US Army bivy sack like a 3 piece layering system. I used the ultralight bag @ 20 degrees 3-5 mph winds. I wore my base layers to bed with only the ultralight bag under a tarp and I woke up damp from sweating middle of the night. I took my base layers off and left the bag 1/2 zipped and I was warm and comfortable. I think these bags are rated without using base layers. Honestly I think I could have been comfortable down to 10 degrees same wind level without baselayers. With base layers I think I could hit 0 degrees. Obviously wind and humidity will play a big factor. I am glad I wised up and starting using newer technology instead of old methods recommended by the bushcraft and other communities. The wool blanket just wasn't good below 40 degrees heavy and bulky. The wool blanket is a "Baker's bundle" and I love it and will never sell it. I have moved on from trying to fit into "Bushcraft", "prepping", hiking genres. I just am buying gear that performs and works for me. Sleeping bags are probably the best investment you can make no matter what your outdoor needs are and you can't go wrong here. The bag is expensive but the matetials used are the best.
