Bright and Solid Shine
The light fixtures on my front porch use candelabra style bulbs, and recently I had two of them burn out in quick succession. I wanted to update to LED bulbs anyway because of the lower energy consumption but I have been having consistent issues with bulbs that periodically flicker. I decided to try these bulbs by Westinghouse - a well known brand - with the hope that these would burn solid without any flicker. So far they have been great and are a definite upgrade to the old bulbs they replaced. These are interesting bulbs. They have the Edison-style filaments, and they're frosted but in a way that is different than any other bulbs I have seen - they almost look like they have been wrapped in strapping tape. The wrapping serves to dampen their brightness just a little but not hugely. These screw in easily enough, and they are instant-on when energized. They're significantly brighter than my older bulbs while having lower actual wattage. There is enough light on my front porch at night when these are on to almost look like daytime through the window. And, very important to me, these do not flicker even a little, at least from what I have noticed. I am pleased with these bulbs. These have addressed an immediate issue I had, but they also work better than other similar bulbs I have tried. Read more
