The WHOOP is honestly one of the best fitness trackers I’ve used. It’s not just about steps, it really helps you understand your body on a deeper level. I also use an Apple Watch, and I’ve noticed a slight difference in step counts between the two, but it’s nothing major. The WHOOP still gives a solid sense of daily activity and complements the broader health insights. For work, it’s been super useful. I can actually see how stressful or busy days affect my energy and recovery, which helps me pace myself better and avoid feeling drained. The sleep tracking is amazing. It shows way more than just hours slept, you get details on sleep stages and recovery, so you can actually improve your sleep habits and feel more rested. It’s really comfortable to wear all the time, even while sleeping, which makes a big difference. Overall, I’d easily give it a 5/5,it just makes it easier to stay on top of your health, work, and daily routine. Read more

My Whoop is a very comfortable and a very complete health monitor. I am very pleased with my purchase. It details my sleep quality and also gives tips on how to improve. The size does not interfere with movement. It is a bit on the expensive side, but the information can be sent to your doctor to share individual data over a period of time. I have not shared information with my doctor, yet but it is a great health fearure. I am in a community with my friends. I am trying to improve my sleep quality and my Whoop is very helpful as I try to maximize sleep quality. I love my Whoop! Read more

I wanted to share my experience with WHOOP because it’s been one of the most frustrating purchases I’ve made in a while. The core issue is simple: the heart rate data during workouts is not accurate… I tested this side-by-side with: - A Garmin chest strap (gold standard for HR) - An Apple Watch Both of those devices consistently matched each other, and I even manually checked my pulse during workouts — again, same result. Meanwhile, WHOOP was often 20+ beats per minute off during the exact same sessions. This wasn’t a one-off issue either. I tested multiple workouts: - Cross training session - Run/walk workout Same problem every time. I went through all of WHOOP’s troubleshooting steps: - Wore it exactly as instructed (above wrist bone, tight fit, no LEDs visible) - Tried bicep placement - Cleaned sensor and skin - Updated firmware/app - Restarted everything Nothing fixed it. What’s more frustrating is the support experience. Instead of addressing the issue, they repeatedly said this level of variance is “normal” due to sampling differences. That explanation doesn’t hold up when: - The other two devices are continuously measuring - They match each other AND manual pulse checks - WHOOP is the only outlier At that point, it’s not “variance” — it’s inaccurate data. And that’s the biggest problem: WHOOP’s entire value is its data and insights. If the heart rate data is wrong, then: - Strain scores are wrong - Recovery scores are unreliable - Training recommendations can’t be trusted So the whole product breaks down. I also requested a replacement after extensive troubleshooting, and they refused — continuing to ask for more photos and repeating the same steps I had already completed multiple times. To make things worse, if you buy through Amazon, returns can take 2+ months and require multiple conversations with support. That just adds another layer of frustration. Bottom line: - Hardware feels cheaper than competitors - Heart rate accuracy (at least in my case) is significantly off during workouts - Support was not helpful in resolving the issue - The product doesn’t deliver on its core promise if the data isn’t reliable I really wanted this to work because the app and concept are great. But right now, it’s hard to recommend when the most important metric — heart rate — isn’t dependable. Hopefully this improves in the future, but based on my experience, I would look elsewhere. I’ve been wearing the WHOOP for about 8 months. It’s provided some great insights on sleep and helped me reign in bad habits… you can really see the detrimental impact of alcohol across nearly all metrics, for example, and the effects last days. The AI still needs some work but it’s getting better. My big hang up is strain tracking when lifting weights. Very little strain logged even when I push myself to the limits unless using the built in “strength trainer.” I used strength trainer for a few months, but it is very clunky to use and is very cumbersome if you prefer using another app to track workouts. Functionality would be greatly improved if the app would synch with some of the more popular apps instead of having to build individual routines in the WHOOP app, which has a limited exercise library. They added the capability to add your bloodwork results, which is nice, or you can use their service to run tests on all the usual health indicators as well as those recommended by longevity gurus like Peter Attia. All in all, it does what it promises. The battery life is as advertised and I’ve been able to swim and shower with it on with no issues. If they fix the issues with correctly logging weight training I’d be a much happier customer. Read more
