I got this early in the season and have used it several times when going for a walk or when shoveling the driveway when it snowed and it worked fantastically. The thickness is just right to work as a base layer underneath a warmer hat and the fit works well even with my giant head. It feels very sturdy and doesn't feel like it's going to rip or anything when I'm pulling it onto my head and face. Can't wait for the ski season to begin and I can already tell that this is going in my Ski bag. It not only fits right and comfy, the seams don't have any pressure in the helmet fits good over it. The Ears get a double layer of insulation which can really help on those nippy days. I also like that the collar of it is not overly large. It is large enough to create the seal I want but doesn't get in the way and doesn't bunch up. The way it's designed makes it easy to have the mouth exposed or covered and the tip of the nose can easily be covered as well. Without using goggles you really can make it to a very tiny slit we can get the eyes showing. I can't speak to its durability yet but if it holds up and I need another one I would look to this. The media could not be loaded. With colder weather right around the corner, I am assembling my winter riding outfits. One of the items in my cold weather arsenal this year will be this nice fleece balaclava. This has a nice exterior finish to it and a softer, somewhat fluffier interior which should help trap heat and warmth this winter. For my health and for general recreation, I ride a bicycle year round. I intend on getting more riding in during the colder months this year and keeping my head warm does wonders for keeping the rest of the body warm. This balaclava appears as though it is up to the job. Currently, it is the end of summer and still quite warm, so I can only base this on the overall thickness, and how much warmth it provided inside an air conditioned house. I have full confidence that this nicely made item will keep me and warm through the winter months. If it falls short under cold conditions I will certainly post an update, but as of now this appears well made, comfortable, and warm. Read more

I'm very pleased with this balaclava. I have a larger head, and it just barely fits me, somewhat snugly. The material is thicker than my dry-fit style balaclavas that I wear under a helmet, but thinner than the other fleece balaclavas, I would describe it as a middle weight. I had been looking for something like this for awhile. I will be using this when i go car-camping, as i have a feeling it will cut down on condensation a lot!! I also keep my house pretty cold in the winter, and i can use this on those really frosty mornings! It is very comfortable, both in the feel of the material, and how it shapes over your head and face, with just enough material at the bottom to keep your neck warm, but not feel too bunched up.
