I bought two types of Chouiss snow boots, this model and the one with the zipper on the side. Comparing the two for comfort. I thot the ones with the zipper would allow a key or maybe able to carry a bit of $$, but really it just seems as if it is strictly decorative vs functional. I opted to keep this model as it had a different top back area that gave a bit more. I chose lace up for a weak ankle and need the support. I wear a 7, but opted to size up for the ability to wear a thicker sock. The fur inside is nice but not sufficient for my cold climate and need the ability to wear beefy socks. Plus it wasn't tight in the toe box. They aren't stiff which I appreciate and are not a heavyweight shoe. These are better for dog walking than a typical snowboot that doesn't adjust well to your foot and has no support, imho. Not sure if they are completely waterproof yet but the outside appears like it will be. Only drawback for me is the sole. I wish it had a better griping type bottom pattern.
