It is very light, very well-made. The best feature of course is how wide it is, and therefore it truly covers your face from the sun. I love this hat. It is somewhat thick and weighted , the brim is sturdy. It’s not one you would want to get wet because of the material isn’t dry fit necessarily or wear in hot weather. This huge brim shades face, ears and back of neck. SPF/Fabric is thick, it's flexible. The big brim can obstruct vision, so I fold up the front a tiny bit while walking. Even in intense heat it is semi-breathable (the light color helps reflect heat). My head is a size small and most one size fits all hats are too large, this has an adjustable tie inside the hat which has allowed me to make it snug enough to not fly away on a breezy day (yes, I have to hold on to my hat when it's really windy). Good for travel since it's I fold it or roll it in my suitcase , then just smooth it out and wear it. Washed it in the kitchen sink with some dish soap and it looks as good as new. Read more
